    摘要: A drum cutter mining machine includes a machine frame with a winch having a drive wheel to engage a rack or chain which extends along the path of travel by the mining machine to propel the machine along a mine face. The mining machine is made up of discrete units which include a machine body and machine housings joined to opposite sides of the machine body. The winch is either coupled through a drive train with a feed drive motor or coupled to the drive motor for cutter drums. The machine housings each support a pivot shaft coupled by an arm to a drum cutter. One of these housings includes a removable end cover and a recess adapted to receive a support housing for a spur gear system used to transmit torque from a feed drive motor to a reduction gear system which is, in turn, coupled to the drive wheel of the winch. In one embodiment, a removable end cover on the machine housing provides access to the feed drive motor. The feed drive motor is arranged so that the rotational axis of its drive output shaft extends transversely to the stow side of the machine frame. In another embodiment, the reduction gear system is arranged at one side of the pivot shaft for the cutter drum while the drive motor therefor is arranged at the other side of the pivot shaft and coupled thereto through the spur gear system. In a further embodiment, the reduction gear system is disposed between the feed motor and the pivot shaft.

    摘要: A cutting apparatus primarily for use in mining work and having an arm pivotably supported in a base housing for swinging upwardly and downwardly. The arm has cutting devices supported for rotation on a shaft at its free end and this shaft is coupled with a chain disposed within the arm to a further shaft at the lower end of the arm. The further shaft is connected to the output shaft of a drive motor and the axes of the shafts are aligned with the axis of pivoting of the arm. The drive motor has its own housing supported on an outer ring. This outer ring is in turn mounted for rotation on an inner ring accommodated in a side wall of the base housing. This inner ring is, in turn, connected to the arm. A projection of the housing of the motor engages a stop member to prevent rotation of the housing itself relative to the base housing and apart from this there is no contact between the motor and the base housing.

    摘要: A multiple trepan boring device for producing substantially large cuts in large works, such as concrete dams, comprises a drilling shaft adapted to be translationally displaced along its longitudinal axis and carrying a series of spaced apart cylindrical rotatable trepans each having a peripheral cutting surface and an annular cutting surface, the latter extending in plane perpendicular to the axis of the shaft and radially between the shaft and the peripheral cutting surface. Weights apply continuous downwards forces on the shaft and thus on the trepans. With the trepans resting on the top of the work to be cut, the trepans are rotated in place, and under the aforementioned forces the peripheral cutting surface of each trepan bores a hole until the shaft rests on the top of the work. Then the shaft is displaced translationally while the trepans continue to rotate thereby causing the annular cutting surfaces to remove a layer of the work extending between the shaft and the peripheral cutting surface. This procedure is repeated so as to produce a cut of a width corresponding to the outside diameter of the trepans by successive removal of crescent-shaped layers from the work. After the removal of each layer, the shaft is lowered along a distance corresponding to the difference in radii between the drilling shaft and the trepans.

    摘要: A drum cutter-loader machine includes discrete units joined together by tie bolts extending transversely to the direction of advancing movement along a face conveyor. The units in succession from the stow side to the working side include a gantry casing supporting winch drive motors and straddling the face conveyor, a transmission box, a winch casing and casing carrying actuators coupled to arms carried by pivots at opposite ends of the winch casing. The arms carry cutter drums driven by motors supported by the arms. A toothed rack at the working face side is engaged by drive wheels driven through gearing in the winch casing and transmission box by the winch motors. The gantry casing is supported at the stow side through runners that engage a guide rail. In one embodiment, the machine is supported by rollers at the working face side on the toothed rack. In a further embodiment, the machine is supported by rollers at the working face side on a machine track.
