Abstract: A flow rate control valve is configured to adjust a flow rate of blow-by gas drawn into an intake passage from a crankcase of an internal combustion engine that uses hydrogen as fuel. The flow rate control valve includes a flow rate adjuster having a valve member. The flow rate adjuster has a cross-sectional flow area in a section through which the blow-by gas passes. The cross-sectional flow area is changed in accordance with movement of the valve member. The flow rate control valve is configured such that the cross-sectional flow area is maximized when a load on the internal combustion engine is less than or equal to that in an idling operation state.

Abstract: An oil structure of an internal combustion engine includes a main oil pump configured to suck lubricating oil stored in a crankcase and feed the lubricating oil to respective engine parts and a scavenge pump configured to recover the lubricating oil from any lubricated engine part and return the lubricating oil into the crankcase. The scavenge pump has: an oil suction passage extending from the lubricated engine part to a suction side of the scavenge pump; and an air introduction passage for negative pressure control connected to the oil suction passage. An air introduction port of the air introduction passage is open to the inside of the crankcase and is set to a height position such that, when a level of the lubricating oil in the crankcase is inclined, the lubricating oil flows in from the air introduction port and returns from the scavenge pump into the crankcase.

Abstract: An integrated assembly includes a primary housing which carries the filter element. A partition resides in a secondary housing which seals off an atmospheric chamber from a pressure regulator chamber. The partition is moveable in a first axial direction and a second axial direction opposite the first axial direction response to a change in a pressure drop across the filter element. A valve assembly changes from a closed configuration to partially open configurations, and to a fully open configuration responsive to movement of the partition. The movement of the valve keeps a pressure in a crankcase downstream of said filter.

Abstract: An oil filler assembly, has: a filler tube extending from a bottom end to a top end; a non-return valve having a tube side and a tank side; a cap assembly including a cap removably secured to the filler tube and a dipstick projecting from the cap; a vent having an inlet connected to the tank side and an outlet connected to the tube side, the vent defining a flow path bypassing the non-return valve; and a safety valve connected to the vent and having an open configuration in which fluid flow is permitted and a closed configuration in which fluid flow is prevented, the safety valve being engageable by the cap assembly to bias the safety valve in the open configuration when the cap is secured to the top end, the safety valve being in the closed configuration when the cap assembly is detached from the top end.

Abstract: A system for collecting lube oil in an internal combustion engine with a rotating cranktrain which reduces lube oil aeration. The system includes a first side wall and a second side wall opposite the first side wall. An oil accumulation ramp extends downwards from the second side wall to the first side wall, and separates the oil sump from the crankcase. An oil entrance aperture is arranged in the ramp near the first side wall for directing oil accumulating on the ramp into the oil sump. A plurality of air return ports extend through the oil accumulation ramp from the oil sump to the crankcase. The shape and aim of the air return ports are tuned to optimize the pressure of air and oil level in the sump.

The internal combustion engine further includes at least one second scraper ring defining a condensation fluid scraper ring that is arranged between the piston and the cylinder wall and configured to scrape a condensation fluid off from the cylinder wall when the piston moves away from the crankshaft.

Abstract: The blow-by gas recirculation device includes first to third passages and first and second check valves. The first to third passages respectively connect a portion of an intake passage downstream of a throttle valve, connect a portion of the intake passage downstream of an intercooler, and connect a portion of the intake passage upstream of a compressor to an interior of the crankcase. In the first passage, a first check valve is configured to permit a flow of gas from the interior of the crankcase to the intake passage and restrict a flow of gas from the intake passage to the interior of the crankcase. In the second passage, the second check valve is configured to permit a flow of gas from the intake passage to the interior of the crankcase and restrict a flow of gas from the interior of the crankcase to the intake passage.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a blower housing and a filtration system positioned in a path of cooling air from the blower housing. The filtration system includes a filter housing comprising a base that defines a series of radially extending fins extending circumferentially around the base, and a filter cartridge defining a longitudinal axis and being removably arranged within the filter housing. The base includes a drain and a channel formed radially between a first raised surface and a second raised surface, and the drain is in fluid communication with the channel. The filter cartridge includes a bottom endplate in engagement with both the first raised surface and the second raised surface so that fluid flow is inhibited through the channel and to the drain, and a filter media extending axially from the bottom endplate.
