    摘要: Method and apparatus for metering fuel flow to a gas turbine engine includes a first bifurcated movable metering element straddling a pair of opposed metering openings and shiftable to adjust the area of the openings to vary fuel flow from a pump to the combustion chamber of the engine. A second bifurcated movable metering element straddles a second pair of opposed metering openings to adjust fuel flow back to the inlet of the pump in bypassing relationship to the combustor. The movement of the second metering element is responsive to the pressure differential across the first metering openings to maintain this pressure differential substantially constant to allow precise fuel metering by movement of the first metering element.

    摘要: A fuel control system for a gas turbine engine which has a gas generator and a separate work turbine, comprises a metering device and an arrangement of throttle valves downstream of the metering device for controlling the fuel pressure drop through the metering device. A first throttle valve is responsive to a difference between desired and actual gas generator speeds to maintain the metering pressure drop constant for a selected speed. This throttle valve is also operable to restrict fuel flow if the work turbine exceeds a predetermined speed. A second throttle valve, in parallel with the first valve controls fuel flow at low engine speeds, and first valve controls fuel flow during acceleration.

    摘要: A fuel-pumping system for a gas turbine engine includes a jet pump in the fuel tank, a boost pump, a pressure pump, and a fuel control to control the fuel supply from the pressure pump to the engine. The jet pump is energized by fuel diverted from the outlet of the pressure pump through a static vortex-type flowresisting device having a pressure drop proportional to flow raised to a power greater than two. This device reduces the amount of increase in fuel returned to the jet pump which would otherwise occur under high-pressure discharge conditions of the pressure pump.
