The singlet delta energy levels of molecular oxygen (SDO) are generated to enhance the performance of internal-combustion engines, diesel engines in particular. In the preferred embodiments, this control takes place just prior to, and in the initial stages of, fuel injection. The SDO can be generated using different methods according to the invention, including thermal means, optical/laser energy, electrical/electromagnetic excitation, or a combination of these approaches. SDO may also be generated through reactions of a chemical fuel additive or a laser-excited chemical additive. A system for improving the performance of an internal combustion engine according to the invention includes a source or energy operative to generate singlet delta oxygen (SDO) from molecular oxygen, and apparatus for mixing the SDO with fuel prior to, or during, combustion. In the preferred embodiment, the SDO is delivered with air through an air-intake port, and a laser is used in a multi-pass absorption cell.

A combustion enhancement device for internal combustion engines installed in front of the carburetor (or fuel injection pump) comprised of tourmaline crystal or mildly radioactive tritium isotope mineral elements. The tourmaline is directly utilized for the operation of a negatively charged ion generator that provides large volumes of negatively charged ions such that when air containing oxygen induced into the carburetor and the combustion chamber is thereby combustion-enhanced, a large volume of negatively charged ions is mixed with the large volume of positively charged particles naturally present in the air, enhancing combustion by purifying the oxygen required. As such, the power creating combustion of an internal combustion engine not only occurs at greater efficiency, but fuel is also combusted more completely, energy is saved because less fuel is required for combustion, and post-combustion exhaust emission density (especially of nitrogen oxides or NOx) is effectively reduced and improved. As such, the present invention is capable of preventing air pollution and protecting the global environment.

This invention relates to a device for reducing toxic wastes of diesel fuel and more particularly, to a novel-type device for reducing toxic wastes of diesel fuel. The device of this invention, being equivalent to a pre-treatment device, is mounted to the surface side of a fuel feed port at a diesel internal combustion engine so as to activate molecules in diesel fuel and their molecular movement. In particular, with a view to effective induction of electromagnetic wave and magnetic field, some supplemental equipments such as magnet, ceramic pole and coil are arranged on the device of this invention and based on this fabrication, perfect combustion conditions of diesel fuel may be provided in such a manner that some physicochemical changes are offered to diesel fuel, passing through the fuel feed port. Thus, the device of this invention has advantages in that a) after diesel combustion, the release of toxic substances in exhaust gas may be significantly inhibited, and b) fuel consumption may be further improved.
