摘要: A wrap spring clutch, for use in a percussion device activated by a fluid having a lubricant therein, includes a plurality of grooves in at least one of the friction engagement surfaces of the wrap spring clutch, to transmit a portion of the lubricant away from the friction zone of the clutch, to enhance the friction performance of the clutch. The grooves can be parallel and separate, or a single, continuous spiral groove.

摘要: In a crankshaft operated brake actuating device for bicycles, a brake operating lever extends through the lower bracket from a yoke contacting the crankshaft. A light weight spring clutch transmits torque from the crankshaft to the lever upon back pedalling, and reaction from the torque causes the lever to tilt and engage a strap clutch locking the lever to the crankshaft as the braking forces are increased.

摘要: The invention relates to a one-way clutch structure for a stationary exercise cycle, which structure comprises a flywheel journalled on an axle and a cog wheel for the transmission of the force created by treadling to said flywheel. Said one-way clutch structure allows, depending on the treadling velocity, the free rotation of the flywheel with respect to the cog wheel. In order to provide a one-way clutch structure of low manufacturing costs, the cog wheel is journaled on a first cylindrical surface formed in the center of the flywheel by means of a bushing member of plastic material. The coupling element is formed by a spring acting as a spring clutch known per se, which spring is fitted around the bushing member and a second cylindrical surface formed in the center, whereby the end of said spring which is on the side of the cog wheel is bent and locked in an opening provided on the cog wheel. A metal ring is fitted between the inner surface of the end of the bushing member which is on the side of the flywheel and the first cylindrical surface so as to prevent deformation of said bushing member.

摘要: The braking effect of the coaster brake in a bicycle wheel hub is improved by utilizing the frictional force of the wheel hub acting on an expanding split brake sleeve for further expanding the sleeve. A lug on the brake sleeve is received in a slot of a stationary bearing cone on the wheel axle in such a manner that the circumferential frictional force transmitted by the rotating hub shell to the brake sleeve causes the latter to tilt about a pivot axis spaced from the axis of hub rotation, and a cam face on the bearing element is inclined so that a component of the frictional circumferential force drives the lug along the cam face toward the internal face of the hub shell.

摘要: An improved rear hub for a bicycle, comprises: a tubular extension provided at a hub shell having a pair of first and second hub flanges and extending axially outwardly of the first hub flange, the extension carrying an inner member sleeved onto the outer periphery of the extension and fixed thereto; a plurality of through bores formed at an axially intermediate portion of the inner member; and pawl accommodating chambers which are formed by the through bores and the outer periphery of the extension and within which pawls are accommodated and retained, so that a cylindrical outer member having at least one sprocket is supported to the inner member in a relation of being unidirectionally rotatable through the pawls and ratchet teeth provided at the inner periphery of the outer member.

摘要: The present invention refers to improvements in a free-wheeling mechanism for bicycles of the kind including two fixed cones and one movable cone, mounted on an axle and so constituted as partially to provide races in which balls run; furthermore, the movable cone includes at one of its end portions a slotted head in which there rest rollers which are guided by a suitable device, which is also connected to the axle; and there is a hub in which the foregoing parts are housed with the exception of the end of the movable cone opposite the end having the slotted head; the improvements are holding means of the guide device which enable same to force the rollers into contact with the hub or prevent their contact therewith, depending on whether the wheel is to run under engagement or to turn freely without pedalling.
