    摘要: An reusable impact energy absorbing device utilized a liquid filled piston and cylinder assembly whereby upon application of an impact to the piston the piston will move along the length of the cylinder and discharge the liquid outwardly through a sequence of valves into an elastic balloon structure secured to the piston and cylinder assembly to capture the fluid. The valves may be two-way valves which will allow the return of the fluid from the elastic balloon to the cylinder due to the creation of a partial vacuum in the cylinder upon upward movement of the piston when the impact force is removed. Upon discharge of the fluid from the cylinder through each valve, the fluid is forced to travel through a restricted labyrinth to further dissipate the impact energy.

    摘要: A vehicle suspension is provided. The suspension includes a first assembly that is mounted between the vehicle axle and frame and provides controlling damping of movement of the unsprung mass of the vehicle. The suspension also includes a second assembly that is mounted to the vehicle frame and provides controlled damping of movement of a spring disposed against the vehicle frame. The first and second assemblies are in fluid communication. The suspension allows the spring to be mounted remotely from the vehicle axle and increases roll stiffness of the vehicle by allowing spring reaction points to be moved outboard of the vehicle frame rails.

    摘要: A U-type bellows air spring is supported on one side relative to the vehicle frame and on the other side relative to the axle or a longitudinal control arm guiding the latter. The lower end of the U-type bellows is fastened on the longitudinal control arm side in a pressure-tight manner to a flange of a supporting element, and a vibration absorber protrudes through the supporting element. A piston cylinder of the vibration absorber is connected to the longitudinal control arm via a joint, and a piston rod on the longitudinal axis of the air spring is supported relative to the vehicle frame. To keep the amount of sealing for the air spring small even if it is not used very much, the supporting element for the lower end of the U-type bellows is arranged rigidly with respect to the piston cylinder of the vibration absorber. A preferably cylindrical circumferential surface for the U-type bellows to roll along during the compression and rebound action extends from the flange toward the longitudinal control arm.

The hydraulic strut mounting assembly comprises a strut mount coupled to a shock absorber, a decoupler provided across an interior space of the strut mount, an upper and lower chamber formed in the strut mount by the decoupler, an orifice communicating the upper chamber with the lower chamber, a fluid filled within the lower chamber, and a plunger for pressurizing the fluid in line with the shock absorber when a vibration is generated.
