摘要: A noise reduction device for use in a fluid flow system comprises a central section and an outer annular section. The outer annular section is designed to reduce the velocity of an annular fluid flow relative to a central core fluid flow. The central section of the device has a plurality of apertures, while the annular section has upstream apertures communicating with a pressure reduction chamber and downstream apertures. The upstream apertures of the annular section are smaller than, and off set from, the downstream apertures of an annular section to increase the pressure reduction and further reduce the velocity of the fluid flow in an annular section. A method is also described for reducing noise transmissions from a piping system wherein the fluid flow through the piping system is separated into an annular fluid flow and a core fluid flow, and the velocity of the annular fluid flow is reduced relative to the core fluid flow.

摘要: A vacuum control valve comprises a valve chamber with a valve opening which has a portion with a cylindrical inside wall on which an elastic sealing washer is provided. A closing body is included which comprises a cylindrical portion with a first end and a second end, adjoined by a portion of the closing body that widens into a cone, wherein at least one groove is present in the cylindrical portion of the closing body which extends to the first end of the cylindrical portion and which either widens along its extent to the first end, or deepens, or widens as well as deepens. An operating device is also included for the closing body which comprises a valve rod to which the closing body is attached and a drive device, wherein the closing body can be moved by means of the operating device, from a completely open position of the valve where the closing body has been pulled out of the elastic sealing washer, through a control range where the sealing washer encloses the cylindrical portion of the closing body, to a completely closed position where the portion of the closing body that widens into a cone is pressed against the sealing washer.

摘要: A precision modulating globe valve for controlling the flow of a fluid from zero to a maximum flow rate. The valve plug of the globe valve includes at least one flow modulating channel recessed from the outer surface of the valve plug. The outer surface of the valve plug engages a sealing member positioned along the inner surface of the valve port. The sealing member provides a fluid-tight seal between the outer surface of the valve plug and the valve port. The flow modulating channel is recessed from the outer surface of the valve plug from a minimum flow end to a maximum flow end. The radially recessed area of the flow modulating channel increases from the minimum flow end to the maximum flow end, such that as the valve plug moves past the stationary sealing member, an increased flow rate is created through the valve port.

摘要: The present invention provides a valve comprising a conduit, characterized by a longitudinal axis, and a piston disposed within the conduit. The piston is characterized by a longitudinal axis and includes a pilot tip characterized by an operative surface configured to facilitate application of a net force transverse to the longitudinal axis of the piston by gaseous fluid flowing across the operative surface, and thereby bias or urge the piston in a radial or lateral direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the conduit. Fluid flowing across the operative surface is characterized by a flow field, and wherein the operative surface is configured to change the directional component of the flow field, such that the directional component of the flow field changes from a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the conduit to a direction which is angularly displaced from the longitudinal axis of the conduit. The piston is characterized by a longitudinal axis, and the operative surface is tapered or flared in a radially or laterally outward direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the piston. Further, the operative surface extends is disposed on the surface of the pilot tip, and is asymmetrically disposed about the longitudinal axis of the piston. The pilot tip further includes pilot guide members configured to limit radial or lateral movement of the pilot tip relative to the orifice.

摘要: A valve apparatus that has a longitudinal axis therethrough comprises a valve seat member, a valve closure member, a fluid flow path, and a screening member. The valve seat member comprises a hollow bore and a first frustoconical contact surface. The valve closure member comprises a body and a second frustoconical contact surface that is adapted to seal against the first frustoconical contact surface. The valve closure member is movable along the longitudinal axis of the valve apparatus. The fluid flow path extends through the bore of the valve seat member and between the valve seat member and the valve closure member. This fluid flow path is closed when the second frustoconical contact surface is sealed against the first frustoconical contact surface. The screening member is attached to at least one of the valve closure member or the valve seat member, and screens particles from fluid passing through the fluid flow path when the valve closure member approaches the valve seat member.

摘要: A dispensing valve is shown that controls the flow of a fluid, the valve having a housing containing a cylindrical/tubular passageway between an inlet and outlet of the valve. A rod like closure member is operable to move through the passageway from a first position in which the valve is fully closed, to a second position in which the valve is fully open. The exterior surface of the closure member engages the interior surface wall of the passageway to seal the passageway and the interior surface wall and/or the exterior surface of the closure member have helical/spiral grooves therein. A spiral flow passage is defined through which the fluid can flow on its passage from the inlet to the outlet when the closure member moves away from its first position. Further movement of the closure member towards the second position regulates the flow rate of the fluid through the passageway.

摘要: A passive device is provided for reducing vibration and noise in a hydraulic system. The passive device includes a tubular element having an open end and a closed end. The open end of the tubular element is adapted to be attached to a fluid conduit carrying pressurized fluid in the system so that the tube fills with the pressurized fluid. The area and length of the tube are such that the fluid within the tube has a resonant condition at a frequency that is the same as at least one frequency of the vibration and noise that is to be reduced or removed in the hydraulic system. A helicopter is also provided having a hydraulic system of pressurized fluid for reducing the transfer of vibrations from the transmission to the airframe including the passive device. Several such passive devices may be applied at selected locations in a hydraulic system for effectively reducing high frequency vibration and noise due to, for example, helicopter transmission gear clashing.
