    摘要： The invention concerns a safety device (1) for an actuator comprising a connection means (2) allowing a connection to a releasable holding means (5). The connection means (2) is fixed via a sacrificing means (3) to a supporting means (4), and a resilient means (7) is acting between the supporting means (4) and a supporting portion (8). An extension means (9) is fixed to the supporting means (4) via the connection means (2). The sacrificing means (3) has a mechanical strength such that the sacrificing means (3) breaks when subjected to a force exceeding a predetermined force, such that the extension means is no longer fixed to the supporting means and that a re-connection of the supporting means (4) and the releasable holding means (5) is made impossible. The predetermined force is lower than the mechanical strength of the extension means (9) and the supporting means (4). A linear actuator (13) comprising the safety device (1) is also provided.

    摘要： The sign post coupler is a breakaway coupler for use with highway signs having a sign post and a ground post. The coupler is a hollow, tubular, integral coupler made from ductile iron and having a sign post socket, a ground post socket, and a shear section joining the two sockets. The sign post socket has a bottom wall and at least one side wall extending vertically for 360.degree. around the bottom wall, the socket defining a cavity for receiving and supporting one end of the sign post. The ground post socket has a top wall and at least one side wall depending vertically for 360.degree. around the bottom wall, the socket defining a cavity for receiving and being supported by one end of the ground post. The sockets taper inwardly towards the center of the coupler to define a shear section having an annular groove of reduced thickness defined therein. The shear section breaks upon impact of a vehicle with the sign post to separate the post sections.

    摘要： A multi-section support post for a reflective, roadway delineator that collapses upon impact at a replaceable joint. A ground stake and a sign stake are joined together with hardwood blocks that are separated with a material having a large coefficient of friction. The blocks are secured with a pivot bolt to recessed channels at the stakes. An intervening layer of tarpaper is compressed between the blocks. The sign stake collapses at the joint upon impact, such as from a snowplow. A reflective roadway delineator rotates about a pivot bolt or axle that projects from the sign stake.

    摘要： A tension link control device generally comprised of an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder with a uniquely configured fracture link connected therebetween. The link has a specially configured thread and cross sectional area which permits a considerable amount of axial play in the threads. Slots are provided at the interface end of the outer cylinder. Tapped holes are provided in the inner cylinder to align the slots. The inner cylinder has a flange which mates with the outer cylinder assembly. The axial compression loads are absorbed in the outer housing by allowing the cylinders to contact before axial play in the threads will allow compression to be transmitted to the fracture link.
