摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a rapidly deploying transportable power system for generating power. The rapidly deploying transportable power system embodiment disclosed herein can have a plurality of frame members containing a plurality of solar panels. Any embodiments of the rapidly deploying transportable power system can also have a transport enclosure configured to support the plurality of frame members and a rail system coupleable with the transport enclosure, the rail system being configured to support the plurality of frame members outside of the transport enclosure. In any embodiments, the plurality of frame members can be positionable within the transport enclosure with one frame member positionable above another frame member. Furthermore, the plurality of frame members can be movable along the rail system to positions outside of the transport enclosure along the track system.

摘要: A swivel and fanning drive for solar panels, including a base support, a swivel plate mounted pivotingly about a horizontal axis, and a plurality of solar panels that can be fanned in and out about a fan-out axis. The swivel plate can be pivoted by at least one crank and connecting rod. Pivotal movement of the swivel plate about a vertical axis can cause the solar panels to be fanned-in or fanned-out. A brake can resist movement of the solar panels about the fan-out axis.

摘要: A foldable parabolic solar collector includes a first panel having a semi-parabolic reflective inner surface, a central tube to which the first panel is fixed, and a second panel having a semi-parabolic reflective inner surface. The second panel is pivotably mounted to the central tube with the reflective inner surface of the second panel facing the reflective inner surface of the first panel. A receiver tube carries a heat transfer fluid. A tracking motor rotates the central tube. A torque sensor lies in between the tracking motor and the central tube and is configured to measure torque between the tracking motor and the central tube. A servomotor pivots the second panel about the central tube between an open position and a closed position when it is determined by a controller that the torque between the tracking motor and the central tube exceeds a predetermined torque threshold.

摘要: A transportation network for providing propellant in space can include optical mining vehicles that concentrate solar energy to spall captured asteroids, capture released volatiles, and store them in reservoirs as propellants. The network can also have orbital transfer vehicles that use solar thermal rocket modules that focus solar energy on heat exchangers to force propellant through nozzles, as well as separable aeromaneuvering tanker modules with reusable heatshields and storage tanks. The network can have propellant depots positioned between Earth and a transport destination. The depots can mechanically couple to accept propellant delivery and to supply it to visiting space vehicles.

Adjustable connector assemblies comprising bolts (27) and nuts (29a, 29b) are used to connect bottom links (55) of triangular arrays (53) with profile members (41) based onto ground pillars (51). A retraction mechanism of the photovoltaic panels offering protection from adverse weather conditions and during night periods comprises sequentially connected X-configured assemblies with an elongate screw (72) rotatable within nuts (71) at the ends of a terminal X-configured assembly proximally to the protective housing (86).

The close-contacting module comprises: a plurality of elastic members (36) which provide an elastic force that presses the thermal collector (20) toward the solar photovoltaic panel (10) from the backside of the thermal collector (20); a support member (35) for supporting the elastic members (36); and a pair of clips (31, 32, 33) provided at both ends of the support member (35) to fix the support member (35) to the edges of the solar photovoltaic-thermal panel (1).
