摘要: The present invention is directed to an ice cube catcher that is attachable to a refrigerator door to catch ice cubes dispensed from the outlet of the dispenser. Preferably, the ice cube catcher includes a body that has a lower integral portion and two end portions. The integral portion and ends contact the refrigerator once the catcher is mounted on the refrigerator door. The body may be a single piece construction or be constructed of two body members that are joined together in a telescopic fashion such that the length of the catch can be adjusted to accommodate different size ice cube dispensers. The ends of the body have flanges or protrusions upon which are secured magnets or other types of attachment fixtures for mounting the catcher onto the refrigerator.

摘要: The invention is a system and method of transmitting control information and user data, relating to multicast or broadcast services, between a first information entity (110) within at least one mobile station (104) and a second information entity (114) within a controller (106) of a wireless network (102) in which the at least one mobile station is located. The process of the invention includes originating control information from at least one first information entity; encoding the control information at the at least one mobile station on a logical channel; transmitting the logical channel on a physical channel from the at least one mobile station to the controller; decoding the physical and the logical channels at the controller and providing the control information to the second information entity; providing user data at the second information entity; encoding the user data at the controller on a logical channel; encoding the logical channel, on which the user data is encoded, on a physical channel and wirelessly transmitting the physical channel on which the logical channel is encoded from the controller to the at least one mobile station; and decoding the physical channel and the logical channel on which the user data is encoded at the at least one mobile station and providing the user data to at least one of the first information service entities.

摘要: A cooling method using an adsorption agent is carried out in an apparatus including at least one reactor/adsorber embodied as a vessel for receiving the adsorption agent such as zeolite, at least one evaporator vessel receiving an evaporation agent such as water, and at least one line which connects the two vessels and which can be shut off with at least one shut-off member. The reactor/adsorber and the evaporator each have at least one orifice and are selectively connectable to a vacuum generator and to at least one condenser. The selective separation and connection of individual components and/or of component groups for carrying out regeneration and adsorption cycles take place in each case in a pressure-tight or vacuum-tight manner and with air being shut off.

摘要: Disclosed is a liquid refrigerant reservoir and a cooling device comprised of at least one sorbent section, at least one liquid passageway section, at least one wicking material, at least one thermal spacer, a vapor-permeable membrane, a heat-removing material, at least one liquid barrier, a liquid refrigerant reservoir, and a valve. The sorbent section contains a sorbent for a liquid refrigerant. The liquid passageway section is adjacent the sorbent section and defines a liquid passageway through a portion of the evacuated sorbent assembly and cooling device to the sorbent section. The wicking material is disposed in the liquid passageway section. The thermal spacer is in contact with the sorbent section. The vapor-permeable membrane is interposed between the liquid passageway section and the thermal spacer. The heat-removing material is in thermal contact with the sorbent. The liquid barrier is interposed between the heat-removing material and the sorbent. The liquid refrigerant reservoir is adjacent the liquid passageway section. The valve controls liquid communication between the liquid passageway section and the liquid refrigerant reservoir. The cooling device includes a casing that surrounds the sorbent section, liquid passageway section, wicking material, thermal spacer, vapor-permeable membrane, heat-removing material, liquid barrier, liquid refrigerant reservoir, and valve.

摘要: A novel modular and miniature chiller is proposed that symbiotically combines absorption and thermoelectric cooling devices. The seemingly low efficiency of each cycle individually is overcome by an amalgamation with the other. This electro-adsorption chiller incorporates solely existing technologies. It can attain large cooling densities at high efficiency, yet is free of moving parts and comprises harmless materials. The governing physical processes are primarily surface rather than bulk effects, or involve electron rather than fluid flow. This insensitivity to scale creates promising applications in areas ranging from cooling personal computers and other micro-electronic appliances, to automotive and room air-conditioning.
