摘要: Thermal management systems are described. These systems include a refrigerant receiver configured to store a refrigerant fluid, an evaporator, a closed-circuit refrigeration system having a closed fluid circuit path, with the refrigerant receiver and evaporator disposed in the closed fluid circuit path, and the closed fluid circuit path including a condenser and compressor. These systems also include a modulation capacity control circuit configured to selectively divert refrigerant vapor flow to the condenser from the compressor by diverting a portion of refrigerant vapor flow (diverted flow) from the compressor to the refrigerant receiver in accordance with cooling capacity demand. These systems also include an open-circuit refrigeration system having an open fluid circuit path with the refrigerant receiver and the evaporator, and an exhaust line that discharges the refrigerant fluid from the exhaust line so that the discharged refrigerant fluid is not returned to the open-circuit and the closed-circuit refrigerant fluid flow paths.

摘要: A heat pump is provided that includes a first pipe in which a first refrigerant flows; a second pipe disposed at a side of the first pipe and in which a second refrigerant flows; a first heat exchanger connected with the first pipe and the second pipe and in which the first refrigerant exchanges heat with the second refrigerant; a boiler connected with the first pipe and in which the first refrigerant flows; a compressor connected with the second pipe and that compresses the second refrigerant; a second heat exchanger connected with the second pipe and in which the second refrigerant exchanges heat with outdoor air; a bypass pipe branched from first pipe and configured to exchange heat with the second heat exchanger; and a three-way valve that directs the first refrigerant to pass through the bypass pipe. When the outdoor heat exchanger operates as an evaporator, frost formation thereon may be prevented.

摘要: A thermal management system includes a closed-circuit refrigeration system that includes a closed-circuit refrigerant fluid path configured to store a refrigerant fluid; and an absorber/desorber including a bidirectional port coupled to the closed-circuit refrigerant fluid path to regulate an amount of refrigerant vapor at a compressor inlet of the closed-circuit refrigeration system. The absorber/desorber is configured to store an ionic liquid that is configured to absorb or desorb at least a portion of the refrigerant vapor based on a mode of operation of the absorber/desorber.

摘要: A refrigerant metering system/method incorporating a manual expansion valve (MEV), condenser isolation valve (CIV), flow isolation valve (FIV), and evaporator isolation valve (EIV) is disclosed. The MEV is configured to replace a conventional automated expansion valve (AEV) that controls a refrigerant flow valve (RFV) that is positioned in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system between a refrigerant condenser coil (RCC) and a refrigerant evaporator coil (REC) and permits manual metering of refrigerant by the RFV from the RCC to the REC and also allows complete shutoff of refrigerant flow by the RFV from the RCC to the REC. The MEV allows rapid HVAC repair and restoration of service where a replacement AEV is not readily available. The CIV/FIV/EIV are positioned in the refrigerant flow lines to permit the AEV and/or REC to be isolated from HVAC refrigerant flow for repairs to the AEV and/or REC.

摘要: A refrigeration appliance, especially domestic refrigeration appliance, includes a compressor, a condenser, at least a first evaporator, a suction line from the first evaporator to the compressor, at least one heat exchanger switchable between condenser operation and evaporator operation, and a valve arrangement switching the heat exchanger between an evaporator operating state, having a switchable heat exchanger inlet connected to the condenser through a first choke point and a switchable heat exchanger outlet connected to the first evaporator, and a condenser operating state, having the switchable heat exchanger outlet connected to the evaporator through a second choke point. A first supply line for supplying refrigerant in the evaporator operating state and a second supply line, separate therefrom, for supplying refrigerant in the condenser operating state, are associated with the switchable heat exchanger. Only the first supply line is connected with the suction line, forming an external heat exchanger.

摘要: The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for controlling an air conditioning system. The method of controlling the air conditioning system can include receiving air temperature data from an air temperature sensor and determining that the air conditioning system should operate in a reheat mode based on the air temperature being less than a threshold air temperature. The method can include outputting a control signal to a first electronic expansion valve to close and thereby prevent refrigerant to flow through an outdoor condenser coil. The method can also include outputting a control signal to a second electronic expansion valve to open and thereby permit refrigerant to flow through a reheat coil.
