The gas block body includes a slot around each set screw hole that allows the tab to be inserted into the gas block body. The tab provides several benefits over traditional gas block designs, including preventing the set screws from shifting or rotating during firing and allowing for easy installation and removal of the gas block without the need for specialized tools. The gas block is easily installed and removed, and the tab provides a secure and stable attachment point for the gas block. This gas block is an improvement in the field of rifle technology and is expected to find use in the firearms industry.

    摘要: Various embodiments are directed to a barrel for a firearm. In various embodiments, a barrel comprises an inner surface defining a bore configured to guide a projectile as the projectile is propelled through the bore by pressurized gas; and a barrel gas port having a gas port depth extending between a port entrance defined by the inner surface of the barrel and a port exit, wherein the barrel gas port is configured to fluidically communicate with the bore and an action of the firearm; wherein the port entrance defines a length dimension defined parallel to a longitudinal axis of the barrel and a width dimension defined perpendicular to the length dimension; and wherein the length dimension of the port entrance is greater than the width dimension of the port entrance. Various embodiments are directed to a firearm comprising the exemplary barrel.

    摘要: An assembly for directing propellant gas to an action of a firearm includes a barrel and a gas block. The barrel has a plurality of gas ports that communicate with the bore of the barrel. The barrel and the gas block define a passage that receives pressurized propellant gas from the bore by way of the barrel gas ports, and directs the propellant gas to a gas port of the gas block. The plurality of barrel gas ports and the passage act as a manifold in which the propellant gas is taken from multiple locations within the barrel, combined into a single flow, and directed into the gas block via the gas block gas port. The pressurized gas is then routed to an action of the firearm by way of a gas tube and a gas key.

    摘要: Systems and methods for an adjustable gas block are described. Systems may include an adjustment subassembly. The adjustment subassembly may include a valve stem end with a front-most portion larger in diameter than the rear-most portion and a boss extending from the forward portion of the valve stem end; a valve ring surrounding the boss of the valve stem end; a valve threaded portion for receiving the boss of the valve stem end and having a threaded portion; and a valve rotator coupled to the valve threaded portion for adjusting the flow of gas. Systems may include a gas block assembly. The gas block assembly may include a gas block through hole; a first duct to direct pressurized gas from a barrel to a plenum; a second duct to direct a regulated volume of gas to a gas operating system; a seat valve to control the regulated volume of gas to the gas operating system; and a gas block threaded portion for coupling to the valve threaded portion. The adjustment subassembly may be coupled to the gas block assembly.

    摘要: An advanced gas piston operating system for Armalite Rifle (AR) and Armalite Rifle variants. The advanced gas piston system may include a barrel having a gas port formed through the barrel wall, a gas block assembly, a gas piston assembly, and upper receiver assembly, a sending block, rack and gear assembly, and a bolt carrier assembly with an attached rack. In such a system, a portion of the combustion gases from a fired projectile travel through a gas port in the barrel into a gas block assembly which drives a piston forward which compresses a main spring on an attached rod. The opposite end of the rod is attached to a sending block rack and gear assembly with the gear rotatably engaged with the teeth of another rack that is attached to the bolt carrier assembly. As the gas piston assembly moves forward, the bolt carrier assembly moves rearward until the main spring is fully compressed. Decompression of the main spring returns bolt carrier assembly forward loading the next round into the chamber.

    摘要: Techniques and architectures are disclosed for a gas operating system for a firearm. The system includes a barrel having a bore including a rifled portion. Attached to the barrel is a gas block. Located distally of the rifled portion of the bore is a gas expansion chamber in fluid communication with the bore and the gas block. In some examples, the gas expansion chamber includes a diameter at least twice the bore diameter. The gas block of the gas operating system, in some examples, includes a piston, where in response to receiving gases from the gas expansion chamber, the piston cycles the gas operating system.

The system employs a nut, or an adaptor to a barrel nut, that has been modified to secure one end of a gas piston system. The other end of the gas piston system, namely the piston rod, engages, either directly or indirectly, the key on a bolt carrier group. This configuration positions the gas piston system at a point starting near the barrel nut and extending to the bolt carrier group of the rifle, while a gas tube extends from the gas block to the gas piston system a point near the barrel nut.
