摘要: An active protection system (10) is disclosed as having a launch tube (12) with a round inner bore (44) that tapers from an open muzzle end (42) thereof toward a closed rear end (40) to facilitate loading of a cartridge (26) and to permit ejection thereof after firing. The cartridge (26) utilized has a metal case (28) that provides a liner for the launch tube and includes a sabot (116) for launching at least one projectile (120, 122) upon ignition of a propellant (114) by an ignitor (126). Transverse force is generated by utilizing a plurality of projectiles (120, 122) preferably embodied by an outer ring of cubical projectiles (120) and spherical projectiles (122) received within the outer ring so as to provide projectile dispersion that increases the probability of an impact with the intended target.

摘要: A stripper (5) is arranged at a breech ring of a large-calibre firearm. A ramming unit is arranged to insert a shell (11) and a charge (10) into the bore and chamber of the firearm during an insertion process. During the extraction process of the ramming unit which follows the insertion process the stripper goes into coaction with the bag charge and retains this in the chamber position. The stripper coacts with blocking means which during at least part of the insertion process prevent the stripper from being turned out. At a predetermined insertion position the ramming unit (12) achieves a releasing of the blocking means and at the releasing of the latter the stripper is released and can assume a turned-out position. The stripper is actuated to the turned-in position by means of a closing mechanism, and during this actuation the blocking means are prepared to again retain the stripper in the turned-in position at a renewed ramming.

摘要: A break open rifle and bolt action rifle having a barrel extension with a breech end for receiving a propellant charge, a muzzle end with an extended attachment structure for receiving a complementary attachment structure of a barrel, and a chamber disposed within and through the barrel extension having a first diameter at a first end and a narrowing portion adjacent a second end opposite the first end, the narrowing portion having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, wherein the first diameter of the chamber is sized to receive the propellant charge therein, and the second diameter of the narrowing portion is sized to prevent the propellant charge from being further inserted past the narrowing portion, and to prevent a projectile from being inserted through the chamber from the barrel muzzle end. A bolt action configuration having dual diameter non-rotating bolt with an extractor and ejector mechanism for removing a propellant charge.
