摘要: An unmanned underwater vehicle propulsion system includes a turbine engine having a mechanical output, an electrical generator including a mechanical connection to the mechanical output, and an electrical input/output. At least one power bus connects the electrical input/output to one of a motor drive and a motor. A rechargeable energy storage system is connected to the at least one power bus and is configured to provide power to the power bus in at least a first mode and receive power from the power bus in a second mode. A controller is configured to control at least one of the electrical generator, the motor drive, the motor, and the rechargeable energy source.

摘要: A propulsion motor for an underwater vehicle such as an anti-submarine weapon. The motor includes a propulsion chamber into which water is admitted and then rapidly expelled through an exhaust nozzle, developing thrust to propel the vehicle. Gas generators are used to develop the successive hydropulses to expel the water following each filling of the motor chamber with water. In one particular embodiment of an anti-submarine weapon which is directed through the air to the vicinity of a submarine by a rocket motor, the hydropulse underwater propulsion system can use the same chamber as the rocket motor.

摘要: A submarine torpedo tube launched missile type weapon having a water-to-air-to-water flight path, comprising, a covered rocket motor wherein the rocket motor cover is explosively released by explosive bolt devices subsequent to launching and during an initial portion of water travel flight. The rocket propelled weapon incorporates electrically controlled vanes for water guidance by influence over the exhaust discharge of the rocket motor together with separation means for severance of the rocket motor portion from the missile during air travel and guidance system controlled aerodynamic control surfaces for guidance to a predetermined water re-entry point.
