    摘要: A measurement block 10 which moves longitudinally on a road surface includes disk-shaped first, second, and third rollers 11, 12, and 13 having the same outer diameter with a predetermined spacing set therebetween, a first coupling rod 14 which is mounted on rotary shafts of the first and second rollers in a revolving manner, a second coupling rod 15 which has the same length as the first coupling rod and which is mounted on rotary shafts of the second and third rollers in a revolving manner, a distance measurement device 16 which is mounted on the rotary shaft of the first or second roller, and a rotary encoder 18 which is mounted on the second coupling rod to detect an angle between the first and second coupling rods. Each time the measurement block moves by a length between the first and second coupling rods, the angle between the first and second coupling rods is detected by the angle detection means to thereby create a longitudinal profile based on the detected value.

    摘要: A ball step gauge includes a gauge framework that is H-shaped in cross-section and has a horizontal frame. A plurality of holes are formed at predetermined intervals in the horizontal frame in an axial direction of the horizontal frame. A plurality of grooves are formed around each of the holes. A plurality of balls are inserted under pressure in the holes, with centers of the balls existing on a neutral axis of moment of inertia of an area of the gauge framework. Since the ball intervals are less liable to change, the ball step gauge can be used as a reliable standard gauge for calibrating coordinate measuring machines.

    摘要: A relatively inexpensive system is provided for detecting and visually indicating the relative location of the impact on a target of an invisible infrared laser beam emitted from a small arms transmitter (SAT) mounted on a combat rifle. A plurality of red LEDs are mounted on a planar PCB that serves as the target and are arranged along X and Y axes corresponding to azimuth and elevation. A plurality of photo-diodes are mounted on the PCB for generating output signals when struck by the laser beam. The photo-diodes are clustered around the intersection of the X and Y axes. A circuit mounted on a reverse side of the PCB is connected to the plurality of photo-diodes for receiving their output signals. The circuit energizes one or more of the red LEDs to provide a pattern of illumination of the LEDs that represents azimuth and elevation deviation of the laser hit from the intersection of the axes when the SAT is fired with the intersection of the axes in the iron sights of the rifle. The LEDs and photo-diodes are spatially arranged on the PCB to provide an effective magnification of a variation in azimuth and elevation of the location of the impact of the laser beam relative to the intersection of the axes. The circuit also increases the duration of the illumination of the LEDs compared to short duration laser pulses to increase visibility to the soldier. A pair of laser diodes can be mounted on the PCB so that visible red light beams emitted therefrom will criss-cross at the appropriate distance and overlap on the soldier's chest. This tells the soldier to fire the SAT-equipped rifle at the target at this location.

    摘要: A device and method for installing and supporting an electrical remodel box from a section of gypsum board, the remodel box being of the type having a rectangular perimeter having a pair of substantially parallel sides spaced apart at a distance “w” and a pair of sides spaced apart at a distance “h”. The method involves using the device, which is a template tool which includes a base with a perimeter defined by at least one pair of substantially parallel sides, a level indicator extends between the substantially parallel sides, substantially parallel end sides between the substantially parallel sides, an upper surface and a flat lower surface, the lower surface being substantially flat. The user first locates an area on the gypsum board which is unsupported by a stud, and then places the template tool over the unsupported area. The parallel sides are then aligned the by using the level on the base. Then the user will mark the surface of the gypsum board with lines along the substantially parallel sides of the template tool and along the end sides of the base. An aperture is then cut through the gypsum board along the markings to create the edges of an aperture that is used to support the remodel box. The electrical remodel box is then inserted through the aperture in the gypsum board.

The kit or system includes a flexible cable which is used to record absolute lengths or distances needed for a proper scoring. The cable lacks cumulative length indicia or unit indications, but rather includes equally spaced incremental indicia which are used (by multiplying the number of indicia as rest between measurement endpoints) as part of the ultimate determination of length according to standard measurement units. A reusable score card is also provided which includes spaces for recording measurements and indicia for indicating the proper measurements to be taken as well as the sequence thereof and prescribed calculations to be made therefrom.

In addition, each of the top and bottom plates include longitudinal markings for use in cutting notches in tiles. An adjustable template according to the present invention is particularly useful in measuring and cutting tile for installation around the periphery of a tiled area adjacent to a boundary, such as a wall, an obstruction, or the like, while accounting for the size of grout joints on either side of the tile.

    摘要: An automated adjustment system that permits an operator to quickly and accurately adjust the various adjustable components in a tape path. The adjustment system comprises an automated adjustment tool connected to a processing system. The automated adjustment tool comprises a plurality of probes connected to a nest fixture. The nest fixture is configured to receive a tape drive and securely position the tape drive for adjustment of the tape path. The plurality of probes are configured to individually engage the adjustable components in the tape path and provide a computer readable output to the processing system that indicates the vertical position of the individual components. The processing system is configured to receive the computer readable output, convert the computer readable output into a measurement and display the measurement on a display for an operator.
