    摘要: A registry for designating authoritative sourcing of data from a data environment in a computer readable storage medium. Selected data content resides into a first data subject area in the form of a common business language, and metadata including characteristics of data stores in the data environment resides into a second data subject area, which is a metadata repository. Data linking a term in the first data subject area with an authoritative location of data associated with the term, as identified in the second data subject area, resides into a third subject area, which is the registry. A basis of authority of the data location and operating scope of the data may be designated in the third data store. Operating scopes may be functional, geographic, temporal, organizational, or a combination thereof. A computer program product and computer readable memory system for designating authoritative sourcing in a data environment are provided.

    摘要: A method and system for analyzing natural language text to identify a set of categories of data in a knowledge base associated with the natural language text and selecting a category from the set of categories is provided. The method and system further provides automatically providing a single category if the set of categories only contains the single category. The method and system also provides that each category in the knowledge base is associated with a stored text representation of a sample natural language text and a score for the text representation-category combination, wherein the score is representative of a relative relevance of the text representation-category combination. The method and system further provide for modifying the score associated with the text representation-category combination of a selected category using feedback provided upon the selection.

    摘要: A system and method for automatically extracting relevant key concepts from a free-text document and indexing the document using the extracted key concepts. The indexing mechanism applies syntactic and semantic filters to filter out irrelevant terms. The remaining terms are deemed to be key concepts for the free-text document. An input search query is compared against the key concepts extracted for the free-text document for determining whether the document satisfies the query. Prior to applying the search query, additional scenario-specific terms are added to the search query in order to improve retrieval performance. The query expansion mechanism generates a list of candidate expansion concepts, filters the list of candidate expansion concepts based on a user-entered scenario concept, and expands the input query based on the candidate expansion concepts remaining after the filtering process.
