Abstract: Embodiments for device pairing using optical codes are described. One embodiment is a wearable device with an image sensor configured to capture an image including a first optical code from a first host device. The wearable device decodes the first optical code, and in response to the first optical code, initiates broadcast of a pairing advertisement. The host device displays a second optical code in response to the pairing advertisement, and the wearable device captures and processes the second optical code to determine a host pairing advertisement code. The wearable device then, in response to the second optical code, initiate broadcast of a second pairing advertisement including the host pairing advertisement code. In various embodiments, a secure wireless channel is then established and used for further secure communications.

Abstract: A method for producing security patterns on an electronic module for a security document includes providing a dielectric film; producing through-holes in the dielectric film; depositing at least one metallic layer on upper and lower faces of the dielectric film leaving the through-holes open; engraving a set of functional metallic zones comprising a central zone forming an electrical ground and a set of electrical contacts separated from one another and separated from the electrical ground by non-metallized zones that expose the dielectric film, and a set of non-functional or decorative zones; and simultaneously engraving a first hollow security pattern by removing material in one of the functional metallic zones, and a second security pattern in relief relative to the dielectric film and obtained by removing material in a zone located outside the functional metallic zones forming the electrical contacts of the terminal block.

Abstract: A gate system control device is a gate system control device configured to control a gate system having an exit gate, and includes a first sensor, a second sensor, and a controller. The first sensor senses that a passport of a person who is in the gate system is placed on a placement region. The second sensor senses that the person is moving. The controller controls the gate system. When the first sensor senses that the passport is placed on the placement region and the second sensor senses that the person is moving to the exit gate, the controller causes the gate system to execute processing for notifying the person.

Abstract: Card processing mechanisms and methods whereby after a card has been processed on one surface thereof at a card processing station such as, but not limited to, a card printing mechanism, the card can be recirculated back upstream of the card processing station along a return card travel path that is separate from the primary card travel path through the card processing station where the card can then be reintroduced back into the primary card travel path and transported through the card processing station a second time. As the card is being returned along the return card travel path, the card can be flipped over so that when the card is transported back through the card processing station, the opposite surface of the card can be processed.

One example method includes receiving an electronic credential request from a client, retrieving an electronic credential that corresponds to the user identifier, generating server signature information, and transmitting the server signature information and the electronic credential to the client. The server signature information includes the electronic credential and a user public key of the client. The electronic credential and the user public key are signed using a server private key. The server signature information is configured to be cryptographically verified by the client and configured to enable the client to generate a two-dimensional barcode based on the electronic credential. The electronic credential included in the two-dimensional barcode is configured to be verified by a credential verification device. The credential verification end device is configured to generate the electronic credential based on the user identifier.
