Abstract:
A pill dispensing system includes a shelving unit in array form that holds a number of bulk containers, each holding a bulk amount of a pill to be dispensed. A computer controlled robot removes a selected bulk container and places it on a counter that also dispenses pills. The robot has an arm with a free end portion that can grip a bulk container or a single pill bottle to be filled. The robot is computer controlled to retrieve an empty pill bottle, place it on a label printing and applying unit, then place it next to the counter/dispenser to receive the selected number of selected prescription pills, then place the filled, labeled bottle on a conveyor. In an alternate embodiment, pill bottles are dispensed from a dispenser that holds bottles on inclined plates and feeds them to a vertical dispensing channel. Gates prevent the flow of bottles from an inclined position until the plate above has been emptied.
Abstract:
An automated banking machine includes a mechanism for accepting deposited items. Deposited items may be provided to the machine in envelopes which are first passed to a user from an envelope storage area (132) in the machine through a transport (124) and which are presented to the user through an opening (244). An envelope storage and dispensing device (134) is operative to assure that only a single envelope is delivered to the user. A user may thereafter include deposit items in the dispensed envelope. The deposited items are passed through the opening (244) and are deposited in a deposit-holding container (128). The deposited items may be marked with indicia corresponding to the transaction or properties of the deposited item where the envelope originally dispensed to the user for holding the deposited item.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a medicine supply apparatus that can effectively prevent the quality of medicines contained in a tablet case from changing due to moisture. The medicine supply apparatus includes a tablet case having an opening, a discharge mechanism for dropping a medicine in the tablet case through the opening so as to be discharged, a drive mechanism for driving the discharge mechanism, and a filling member for receiving the medicine discharged by the discharge mechanism, wherein the opening of the tablet case is closed by a detachable cover member to enable sealing the inside of the tablet case.
Abstract:
A pharmaceutical tablet dispensing and packaging system comprising a tablet packaging unit and a tablet dispensing unit having door cabinets and a base cabinet with each door cabinet rear portion detachably engaged to the base cabinet rear portion. Each cabinet rear portion is vertically wrinkled to form ridges and furrows so that when the door cabinets are attached to the base cabinet, spatial shafts are formed by the furrows and ridges.

A method for dispensing pre-packaged, frozen or heated products from an apparatus (1) that automatically distributes said products, comprise picking up said products from a magazine (7) of said apparatus (1) and sending said products to a dispending zone (4) of said apparatus (1), the method further comprises identifying each product inside said magazine (7) and determining the position of said product inside said magazine (7).
Abstract:
There is disclosed a medicine supply apparatus that can effectively solve medicine lodgment or blocking within a nozzle that discharges a medicine into packing paper. The medicine supply apparatus includes a nozzle for discharging a medicine discharged from a tablet case and a shutter rotatably provided in the nozzle for opening/closing a medicine drop path in the nozzle. The shutter includes a first shutter plate that has a size capable of closing the inside of the nozzle and is rotated, a second shutter plate swingably connected to the tip of the first shutter plate, and a guide for swinging the second shutter plate in a direction opposite to a direction of rotation of the first shutter plate in a final stage where the first shutter plate is opened. The tip of the second shutter plate is located in a position to narrow an outlet of the medicine drop path when the first shutter plate is opened.
Abstract:
A medication dispensing system (10) includes a portable securable container (42), and a mechanism (12, 13, 14, 16, 19) for dispensing a dosage of solid medication. The system further comprises a processor (11) interfacing with the mechanism and further programmed to await (402) an authorization code from an authorized user among a plurality of authorized users, dispense (404) a dosage of medication while maintaining remaining dosages of medication secure in the portable secure dispenser upon receipt of at least the authorization code and optionally a patient's name, and store (406) a code representative of the authorized user, a code representative of the patient's name, and a date and time of dispensation of the dosage of medication in a memory.
Abstract:
A tablet dispenser includes a housing formed by first and second shells defining a cavity therebetween. A blister tray configured to receive a plurality of tablets therein is rotatably attached to the housing. The blister tray is moveable between a closed position in which the blister tray is releasably contained within the cavity, and an open position in which at least a portion of the blister tray extends out of the cavity. An alarm unit activates at least one alert signal upon completion of a cycle period. The alarm unit is reset after the blister tray is accessed to dispense at least one tablet.
Abstract:
An object dispenser uses a support structure arranged to receive and hold a compact array of objects for dispensing. The objects can be contained in packages that are dispensed along with the objects from any location in the array. Gravity can provide the motive power for dispensing the objects when they are selectively released from the array. This is accomplished by retainers that hold the objects in place when latched and release the objects for dispensing when selectively unlatched.
Abstract:
The disclosed invention is a dispensing apparatus and method for dispensing product from a vending machine. The invention employs a motor for bi-directionally rotating a dispenser bucket between two bumpers which physically obstruct and limit the rotational travel, a motor controller for monitoring the current drawn by the motor and signals received from a product vend detection sensor. The motor controller uses monitored information to control the rotational direction and stopping positions of the dispenser bucket. The invention eliminates the need for timing cams and switches and eliminates the need for anti-theft device to prevent product theft from the dispenser bucket.
