    摘要: The electric incandescent lamp for operation at line voltage has a glass lamp vessel (1) provided with a pinched seal (5), in which a metal foil (9) is embedded, which is connected to an internal current conductor (14) extending to a filament (4). The major surfaces (7, 8) of the pinched seal (5) have above the internal current conductor (14) an embossed part (17, 18), as a result of which a space (23) is present in the pinched seal (5) on either side of said current conductor (14). Depressions (19-23) increase the resistance to pressure of the lamp vessel (1). A discharge arc that can be produced in the lamp extinguishes when the arc has reached the pinched seal (5) if the internal current conductor (14) has a wire diameter of at most 200 .mu.m.

    摘要: The invention is directed to preventing occurrence of molybdenum foil breakage during a pinch sealing operation in a method of fabricating an arc tube having a pair of molybdenum foils pinch-sealed on both sides of a spherical portion of a glass tube by sequentially pinch-sealing the respective molybdenum foils. A first molybdenum foil is not pinch-sealed (first pinch seal) with an inert gas introduced into a glass tube as in a conventional embodiment, but is pinch-sealed with the internal pressure of the glass tube maintained at a vacuum of 0.5 torr or less. As a result, oxidation of the molybdenum foils causing breakage of the molybdenum foils during a pinch sealing operation is minimized. Hence, an arc tube having each of a pair of molybdenum foils made of molybdenum whose purity is 99.95% or more and with a thickness of 20 .mu.m or less can be fabricated.

This construction permits a simple method of manufacturing the lamp, in which the tube from which the lamp vessel (1) is formed has a constriction which allows the first current supply conductor (7) and the filament (5) to pass, but stops the foil-shaped part (10) of the second current supply conductor (8) and holds the filament positioned in axial direction in the tube.

    摘要: Outer molybdenum current conductors of electric lamps having quartz glass lamp envelopes and pinched seals have a corrosion-resistant metal coating. The current conductors have been ground bare at the end which is welded to a molybdenum foil incorporated in the pinched seal.As a result of this it is achieved that the current conductors do not corrode, that the welding electrode upon making the connection to the foil does not stick to the coating, and that upon making the pinched seal the electric contact between the foil and the current conductor is not interrupted.
