    摘要: A spring-actuated electrical connector assembly for electrically and mechanically connecting a device to a power source in high-power, high-voltage applications is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a first connector with an internal receiver, a plurality of side walls, and at least one contact beam. The contact beam integrally extends to an outer surface of the side wall and includes a free end that extends inward of the outer surface of the side wall. An internal spring member is dimensioned to reside within the receiver of the first connector. This assembly also includes a second electrically conductive connector with a receptacle dimensioned to receive both the first connector and the spring member to define a connected position during operation of the device. In the connected position, at least one spring arm of the spring member exerts an outwardly directed force on the contact beam of the first connector to outwardly displace the contact beam into engagement with the second connector.

    摘要: A grounding system for a rackable circuit breaker includes a finger cluster connector connected to a grounding bus in the circuit breaker and a rail conductor mounted in a circuit breaker cradle and connected to ground potential. The finger cluster connector includes a conductor formed from a single plate of conductive material folded into a generally U-shaped body with first and second sides divided into a plurality of fingers. Distal ends of the fingers form mutually facing parallel surfaces of a constricted passage configured to make a sliding electrical contact with the rail conductor that is advanced into the constricted passage as the circuit breaker is racked into the cradle. First and second leaf springs fastened to the conductor portion are divided into a plurality of spring finger sections with spring distal ends configured to respectively press against the distal ends of respective fingers of the conductor portion.

    摘要: The present invention provides an electrical connector assembly for use in a high-power application, such as with motor vehicle electronics, that exposes the connector assembly to elevated temperatures and thermal cycling. The connector assembly includes a first electrically conductive connector formed from a first material, an internal spring member formed from a second material residing within the first connector, and a second electrically conductive connector with a receptacle dimensioned to receive both the first connector and the spring member to define a connected position, wherein the connector assembly withstands the elevated temperatures and thermal cycling resulting from the high-power application. To maintain the first and second connectors in the connected position, the spring arm of the spring member exerts an outwardly directed force on the contact beam of the first connector to outwardly displace the contact beam into engagement with an inner surface of the receptacle of the second connector.

    摘要: A connector includes: a housing; and a short-circuit terminal. A deformable portion is configured to deform in a direction of moving away from the terminal during housing of the terminal and to deform in a direction of moving closer to the terminal when the housing of the terminal is finished. The short-circuit terminal has, as different portions, a contact point portion to contact with the two or more terminals and a push target portion to contact with the deformable portion. The short-circuit terminal is configured to reduce its pressure of contact toward the terminal at the contact point portion, during the housing of the terminal, due to a movement of the push target portion along with the deformable portion.
