摘要： A shielded electrical connector usable in conjunction with a household electrical appliance such as a cordless iron. The connector comprises a plug and a socket, the socket having a movable baffle which is held closed when the plug is not engaged with the socket, to isolate the socket's electrical contacts behind a shield section of the baffle. The socket also has a baffle arm, isolated from the shield section of the baffle, by which the baffle may be opened. The plug bears a projection which engages the baffle arm as the plug engages the socket. The socket also has an electrical switch which activates the socket's electrical contacts after the plug is substantially engaged with the socket.

摘要： A descrambler or decoder for premium scrambled television signals compares the tier of the received signal with the contents of a memory associated with the descrambler. The memory of each descrambler establishes the tiers which are to be decoded according to what the user of the descrambler has requested or paid the system operator for. The memory is in the form of a small plug which mates with a receptacle which is coupled to a tier comparator within the descrambler. The memory plug includes a predetermined circuit for each tier arrangement which a user or subscriber may request. Due to its small size and physical arrangement, the tier-establishing memory is resistant to tampering by the user, thereby preventing access to premium programming by unauthorized subscribers.

摘要： Circuit transfer apparatus is described for use in transferring from time-responsive control to temperature-responsive control, and vice-versa, in a microwave oven. The low cost, miniaturized apparatus is mounted to the wall of the oven's cooking cavity and is operated from within the cavity by insertion or withdrawal of the cable plug of the heat-sensitive food probe. The probe plug cooperates with insulative elements to activate spring-leaf sheet metal contacts mounted in the housing of the apparatus, to thereby effect the circuit transfer. The housing also serves as mechanical retention means for the probe plug.

摘要： A safety feature in the form of a disconnect element for an electric socket structure is disclosed. The socket structure is formed of plastic material which is shaped to lock into openings provided to support and locate electric lights in automotive vehicles or the like. A separate ground element is employed with each socket to enable completion of an electric circuit. The safety feature forms a part of the ground element and automatically disconnects the ground element from the source of power in the event a lamp socket falls from, or is removed from, its respective opening.

The rotary member is adapted to snugly fit on the rod-like conductive member of the power jack when inserted thereinto, and is rotatable on and about the rod-like conductive member between a first position, at which the outer periphery and the elastic conductive member are in contact with each other and the elastic conductive member is located in the first position, and a second position, at which the recess corresponds to and face the elastic conductive member to locate the elastic conductive member in the second position.
