    摘要: An apparatus for measuring relative displacement between a first shaft and a second shaft includes first and second rotor assemblies. The first rotor assembly is coupled to the first shaft and is centered on an axis. The second rotor assembly is coupled to the second shaft. The second rotor assembly has first and second stator plates. Each of the first and second stator plates includes an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper and lower surfaces are parallel. The first and second stator plates include a plurality of teeth extending in a direction radial of the axis. The first and second stator plates form a gap between the lower surface of the first stator plate and the upper surface of the second stator plate. The apparatus further includes at least one magnet having a magnetic field and disposed on the first rotor assembly and a sensing device disposed within the gap for sensing a magnetic flux of the magnetic field.

In an example, a surface of the base plate is positioned at 0.1 mm from an adjacent surface of a relatively rotatable magnet. The base plate is comprised of a composite material such that stiffness is improved and acoustic vibration is reduced, while maintaining low power consumption and a fast start-up time. A first material, being a nonmagnetic material is employed adjacent to a motor magnet, and a second material having a preferred stiffness is employed at a greater radial distance from the magnet than the radial distance between a stator and the magnet.

    摘要: The invention relates to an electric motor for a linear drive system comprising a motor housing within which a stator, a rotor and a threaded shank are accommodated. The stator has a stator core and phase windings which are connected to phase connectors. The rotor is mounted onto a rotor hub, the rotor hub being supported in the motor housing by roller bearings and coupled to the threaded shank via a thread in order to transform the rotation of the rotor into a translational motion of the threaded shaft. In accordance with a first aspect of the invention, the motor housing has an injection molded part within which the stator, together with the stator core and phase windings, is embedded. A linear guide to accommodate and guide the threaded shank is integrated into the injection molded part of the motor housing. In accordance with a second aspect of the invention, the rotor hub is also formed from an injection molded part within which the rotor is fixed, the injection molded part of the rotor hub having an inner thread which interacts with the outer thread of the threaded shank.

    摘要: An axially minimized spindle motor is provided that meets industry demands for low profile disc drive memory systems including stiffness, vibration and acoustic demands. Axial height of a base plate is reduced by forming a composite component of the stator and base plate. A thermally conductive bonding substance unites the stator and base plate, and fills in at least a portion of open space adjacent the base plate and stator. By making such a composite component, the axial thickness of the base plate may be reduced. In an aspect, a base plate is provided having an axial height adjacent to a stator in the range of 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm with improved stiffness, reduced vibration and reduced acoustics as compared to conventional low profile disc drive designs.
