    Abstract: An integrated circuit. The integrated circuit comprises a timebase generator and a switch mode direct current-to-direct current (DC-to-DC) voltage converter coupled to the timebase generator. The timebase generator comprises a first linear feedback shift register (LFSR), a signal generator having an input coupled to an output of the first LFSR; and a digital divider comprising a second LFSR and a programmable digital divider, wherein a clock input of the programmable digital divider is coupled to an output of the signal generator, wherein an output of the programmable digital divider is coupled to a clock input of the first LFSR and is coupled to a clock input of the second LFSR, and wherein an output of the second LFSR is coupled to a program input of the programmable digital divider.

    Abstract: A system and method of resolving a time ambiguity in a receiver based on a received radio signal. The radio signal includes a first signal component and a second signal component. The first and second signal components include code symbols having durations of time The system and method include acquiring each of the signal components, and performing code symbol synchronization and/or code synchronization for each of the codes. The system and method further include estimating a code phase offset between the synchronized codes, or a code-symbol phase offset between the synchronized code symbols. Finally, the system and method include resolving the time ambiguity of the receiver within a time period based on the time-dependent code phase offset or the time-dependent code-symbol phase offset.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a method of resolving a time ambiguity in a receiver based on a received radio signal. The radio signal comprises a first signal component and a second signal component. The first signal component comprises a first code of X1 code symbols, the first code having a duration of C1 units of time, wherein each of the code symbols has a duration of St units of time. Likewise, the second signal component comprises a second code of X2 code symbols, the second code having a duration of C2 units of time, wherein each of the code symbols has a duration of S2 units of time. Either, the code duration C1 of the first signal component and the code duration C2 of the second signal component are chosen such that the start or the end of the first code and the second code have a reference code phase offset of D units of time every 2 N units of time, wherein 2N is equivalent to the least common multiple of C1 and C2. Or, the code duration C1 of the first signal component and the code symbol duration S2 of the second signal component are chosen such that the start or the end of the first code and the second code symbol have a reference code phase offset of D units of time every 2N units of time, wherein 2N is equivalent to the least common multiple of C1 and S2. The method comprises acquiring each of the first and second signal components, and performing code symbol synchronization and/or code synchronization for each of the first code and the second code. The method further comprises estimating a code phase offset between the synchronized first code and the synchronized second code, or a code-symbol phase offset between the synchronized first code and the synchronized second code symbol. Finally, the method comprises resolving the time ambiguity of the receiver within a ±N units of time period based on the time-dependent code phase offset or the time-dependent code-symbol phase offset. The invention further concerns radio signal devices.

    Abstract: A round-trip, spread-spectrum navigation and locating system achieves high capacity and large processing gains in one-to-many and many-to-one configurations using round-trip signaling with frequency division based upon precise responding device carrier frequency offsets. Reduced cross-correlation is achieved by assigning these very small disparate frequency offsets to replies from interrogated devices so that the long-term correlation between disparate reply sequences is reduced almost to that of random noise of equivalent energy. The invention supports simultaneous interrogation of multiple responding devices, which responding devices respond essentially simultaneously at a fixed delay after receiving the query. The originating and/or responding devices may be fixed or mobile, permanently or temporarily deployed, terrestrial, airbourne or space-based with any source of power including batteries and solar without limitation. The signaling may be electromagnetic or acoustic with the potential for under-water use.

    Abstract: An antenna apparatus includes an antenna element, a switch with a common terminal that is electrically connected to the antenna element side, a first signal path provided between a first input/output terminal of the switch and a first communication circuit, and a second signal path provided between a second input/output terminal of the switch and a second communication circuit. The first signal path includes a radio-frequency circuit and a phase shifter, and the RF circuit has an impedance that is open or shorted in a second frequency band as seen from the antenna element side. In a state in which the first input/output terminal and the second input/output terminal are both electrically connected to the common terminal, the phase shifter provides a phase shift, and the impedance in the second frequency band of the first signal path as seen from the common terminal is open.
