摘要: A method for cold working pipe elements use two or more cams, each having a gear which meshes with a pinion to turn all of the cams. Each cam has a cam surface with a region of increasing radius and may also have a region of constant radius extending around a cam body. Each cam may also have a traction surface extending around a cam body. The method includes contacting the pipe element with a plurality of cam surfaces simultaneously at a plurality of locations on the pipe element and rotating the pipe element, thereby simultaneously rotating the cam surfaces. Each cam surface engages the pipe element with an increasing radius and a region of constant radius if present to deform the pipe element and form the groove.

摘要: A device for cold working pipe elements has two or more cams, each having a gear which meshes with a pinion to turn all of the cams. Each cam has a cam surface with a region of increasing radius and may have a region of constant radius extending around a cam body. Each cam also has a traction surface extending around a cam body. A discontinuity in each cam surface is aligned with a gap in the traction surface of each cam. The discontinuities and gaps provide clearance for insertion and removal of the pipe element between the cams to form a circumferential groove when the cams are rotated.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide medical devices for treating a target site within the body and associated methods for fabricating and delivering medical devices. According to one embodiment, a medical device includes a tubular structure having proximal and distal ends and a side wall extending therebetween. At least a portion of the side wall can have a corrugated surface. The side wall further includes at least one layer of a metallic fabric configured to be compressed and heat set to define the corrugated surface. The tubular structure may comprise an expanded shape, and may be configured to be constrained to a smaller diameter than the expanded shape for delivery within a catheter to a target site and to assume the expanded shape upon release from the catheter.

摘要: A method and apparatus for manufacturing an optical cable comprising at least one metal tube housing at least one optical fiber and having a predetermined excess fiber length (EFL) is described. In this method the metal tube is plastically deformed and shortened by a predetermined amount (St) greater than the predetermined EFL and is plastically deformed after shortening to provide a controlled elongation thereof so as to reach the predetermined excess fiber length. An optical cable so manufactured has a local excess fiber length (EFL) varying of or less than 0.2% along the longitudinal extension of the cable with respect to an average EFL of the cable.

摘要: The invention relates to a burnishing roller head (10) for burnishing radii (28) or recesses which respectively laterally define the bearing seats of main and lifting journals (3, 4) of crankshafts (1) for motors of motor vehicles. Two disk-shaped and cylindrical burnishing rollers (11, 12) with the same diameter and approximately the same width are arranged parallel and at a mutual distance from each other in the housing (9) of the burnishing roller head (10) and are mounted in such a way that they can rotate about a common horizontal rotational axis (18) in the housing (9) of the burnishing roller head (10). Said burnishing rollers (11, 12) respectively comprise, on the outer peripheral edges (22) thereof opposing each other, a rotating rounded projection (21) which enlarges the diameter of the respective burnishing roller (11, 12) by a pre-determined measure (24), the axial width of the burnishing roller (11, 12) extending simultaneously over a section of the projection close to the edge.

摘要: A pressing member 44 is pressed from the outside against a peripheral wall of a can shell 4 whose interior is maintained at a predetermined pressure by gas, to form a recess-deformed portion 56 having a predetermined shape on the peripheral wall of the can shell 4. Thereby, three-dimensional patterns can be formed by recess-deforming desired portions of the can shell 4 while preventing the strength of the can shell 4 from being deteriorated and preventing the inner surface of the can shell 4 from being scratched or the coating from being damaged, by which outer shape processing with high design performance can be easily applied to the can shell 4 at a low cost.
