    摘要: A windshield wiper system includes a windshield wiper having a wiper blade with a near end and a far end. The windshield wiper is configured for performing a relative rotation of the wiper blade between the far end and the near end of the wiper blade. A mechanism applying a torque to the far end during a sweeping motion of the windshield wiper twists the far end of the wiper blade relative to the near end. The mechanism may perform the relative rotation of the wiper blade regardless of whether the wiper blade is in contact with a windshield. For example, the mechanism may include a stationary cam block having a cam profile, and an actuator arm moving along the cam profile with the sweeping motion of the windshield wiper. The cam profile is suitably shaped to pivot the actuator arm in laterally outer ranges of the sweeping motion.

    摘要: A cleaning device for a vehicle has tracks above and below the vehicle's windshield. A brush, wiper blade and spray bar extend across the windshield at a starting side of the windshield. The spray bar provides washer fluid as the brush rotates against the windshield. The spray bar, rotating brush and wiper bar are moved along the tracks and across the windshield to an opposing, return side of the windshield where the wiper blade first contacts the windshield and the brush stops rotating and moves away from the windshield. The spray bar rotates next to the wiper blade to blow air against the windshield. The wiper blade scrapes water while air blows water off the windshield as they move back to the starting side of the windshield where they are stored in a frame along the side of the windshield when not in use.

    摘要: Various embodiments of a wiper assembly are disclosed which facilitate the removal or shattering of ice or snow debris lodged and trapped beneath a wiper blade during its movement. Embodiments of the invention are disclosed which provide means to overcome normal urging forces of the wiper arm in a direction toward a light transmitting screen member and to urge the wiper arm of the wiper assembly away from the surface of the screen member. Some structures according to the invention may cause the wiper blade to return with an impact force sufficient ice and snow debris trapped beneath the wiper blade and also possibly frozen to it. Other embodiments include means for imparting vibrational movement to the wiper assembly to release or shatter ice and snow trapped beneath the blade or frozen to it.
