    摘要: Apparatuses and methods for stabilizing an outboard motor of a watercraft during transport by a towed vehicle include a body having an outer member secured to the towed vehicle and an inner member disposed within and telescopingly movable relative to the outer member, the inner member having a head usable to contact and stabilize the outboard motor. A biasing member urges the inner member toward a retracted position. The inner member includes a first portion pivotally movable relative to a second portion, between an angled and a straight position. Contact between the first portion and the outer member prevents movement of the inner member toward the retracted position.

    摘要: The bracket of this invention is to support an outboard motor or outdrive while being transported over the road on the stern of a boat. The bracket allows the foot or housing of the outboard motor or outdrive to be placed in such an up position so that it is not in danger of coming in contact with the surface of the roadway. The bracket also prevents excessive weight on and consequential damage to the hydraulic and manual tilt and support systems of the outboard motor or outdrive being transported. The bracket hangs from the factory drilled holes in the outboard motor clamp bracket or outdrive bracket by means of a drop bar pin secured in place by quickly and easily removable click pins. When assembled, the bracket forms a rigid support between the stern of a boat and the foot or shaft housing of the motor or outdrive being transported.

    摘要: The invention provides an article carrier (10) having a handle (22) formed from flexible material at the top of the article that is to be carried (11). A pair of straps (18, 20) which form article-encircling loops are both connected to the handle (22). Where the straps (18, 20) are connected to the handle (22), each is twisted to make a half turn, i.e., 180.degree. twist, and each is folded against itself to define an oblique angle (A) between portions of each strap (18, 20) on opposite sides of the handle (22). The strap (18) at the front end of the handle (22) diverges forwardly and the strap (20) connected to the rear of the handle diverges rearwardly. Sewing between the straps and a cover (12) terminates on either side of the handle (22) to form a sleeve which serves as an opening into which a reinforcing plate (26) is placed. Pockets (14, 16) on opposite sides of the cover (12) each have a hollow interior and each includes an upper flattened tubular portion (53) which is folded downwardly when the pocket (14, 16) is closed to help prevent water from entering either pocket (14, 16).

    摘要: Apparatus for killing marine life, such as zebra mussels, in the cooling system (14) of a boat having a water-cooled internal combustion engine (11) includes a flexible bag-like enclosure (20) which is adapted to be mounted on the boat so as to provide a closed volume of water communicating with the cooling system inlet (18) and cooling system outlet (19). When the engine is allowed to idle in neutral, cooling water is drawn from the enclosure and is circulated through the cooling system in heat exchange relation to the engine, and is discharged back into the enclosure. The temperature of water in the enclosure and cooling system will therefor increase. After the engine has been operated for a period of time, the temperature of water in the enclosure and the cooling system will increase to a level necessary to kill marine life in the cooling system.
