    摘要: A device for protecting the end of a tubular component, the end including a first threaded zone. The device includes a protecting end including a second threaded zone configured to cooperate with a first threaded zone of the tubular component, and a ring configured to cover a portion of the outer surface of the end of the tubular component. The ring is bound up with the protecting end such that the ring is free to turn about itself independently of the end. Such a device may find application to components used for drilling and operating hydrocarbon wells, for example in particular expandable components.

    摘要: A container holds at least one surgical implement, has a lock mechanism, and has a signature label that impedes access to the surgical implement until the correct surgical site is confirmed. A method of using the container includes the steps of confirming the correct surgical site, signing the label and removing it from the container, placing the label in the medical record, unlocking the container, removing the implement, and beginning the surgery, wherein the surgical team is forced to pause to confirm the correct surgical site before starting the surgery. Preferably, the container top may be removed and placed between the surgeon and surgical technician to define a no-hands “neutral zone” to avoid being stuck by the sharps. Also, the container preferably includes compartments for storing used sharps and/or a local anesthetic-loaded syringe, and the top may be replaced and secured for safely disposing of the sharps after the surgery.

    摘要: An end protector system for tubular goods including, but not necessarily limited to, drilling riser pipe. The end protector system utilizes lightweight substantially rigid, UV-stabilized molded plastic members that can quickly and easily cover box and pin end connections of drilling riser pipe, as well as ancillary conduit holes, bolt holes and/or other openings. The end protector system of the present invention can be used on tubular goods having an end connection flange, as well as those without an end connection flange, to block access to internal surfaces of the drilling riser components. The end protector system of the present invention further includes a retention system to ensure that individual end protectors remain in place during transportation and/or prolonged storage of such tubular goods.

    摘要: A toilet valve quick connect includes an upper housing having a capture chamber which facilitates the operation of a capture nut with oversized outward peripheral portions to enable it to be turned within the confines of a typical toilet tank. The toilet valve quick connect has a lower section which extends through the hole in a typical toilet tank and is secured in much the same way as a conventional toilet valve fitting. The toilet valve quick connect includes an internal conical sealing member for facilitating the sealed connection with the bottom rim and inside of a conventional toilet valve fitting. A capture housing partially encloses the capture nut to enable it to engage the threaded bottom fitting of a conventional toilet valve and to impress a downward force on the threaded bottom fitting.

    摘要: A heat pipe is provided having a vessel with a closed first end, a second end, and a wick on an inner surface that defines a passageway. A convex wall is positioned at the second end so as to block the passageway. The convex wall is deformable so as to move from a first position wherein a portion of the wall is convex to a second position wherein the portion of the wall is concave. The convex wall may include at least one stress concentrator so that upon an application of a force to the convex wall, the stress concentrator causes the convex wall to buckle. A method for forming a heat pipe is also provided comprising coating the interior surface of the vessel with a wicking material and partially saturating the wick with a working fluid. The vessel is then partially evacuated. A portion of the vessel is pinched-off so as to seal the vessel. Then, the pinched-off portion of the vessel is pressed so as to move it from a first position wherein the portion is convex to a second position wherein the portion is concave.

The sidewall has a circumferential groove about its interior surface housing a band which can be made tight against the exterior surface of the oilfield tubular by a latch, or other latch means accessible through a slot in the sidewall, and which becomes even tighter if the tubular attempts to escape from the band. In a first orientation, the cylindrical ring is used as a load ring. By turning the cylindrical ring upside down, the cylindrical ring is used as a thread protector for the pin end of the tubular.
