The guide members 60A and 60B guide the articles 5 and are rotatable with vertical movement of the plate.

    摘要: A polar-coordinate manipulator for vacuum application, e.g., for positioning of a specimen (S) between several operating positions in a vacuum chamber (16) where the specimen can be subjected to ion implantation or similar treatment or measuring procedures. The device comprises a circular stationary support (12) attached to the flange of vacuum chamber (16). A square-shaped rotary table (22) is rotatingly supported by a circular support (22) and in turn slidingly supports a sliding block (44). The sliding block can be shifted by a micrometer (50) radially with respect to the axis of rotation of the turntable. The sliding block supports a moveable plate (72) which can be shifted along the above-mentioned axis of rotation and carries a rigidly attached rod (92) which penetrates into the vacuum chamber and supports the sample to be treated. The manipulator can position the sample at a target point in a polar coordinate system.

    摘要: A single or composite lifting electromagnet has several cores whose poles can attract round, elongated or otherwise configurated ferromagnetic objects. The cores are surrounded by and/or flank discrete sensors in the form of Hall generators or induction coils which are provided in addition to exciting coils for the cores. The sensors are disposed centrally of or mirror symmetrically around the center of the electromagnet, and the purpose of the sensors is to generate signals in response to changes of the electromagnetic field to thereby facilitate automatic guidance of the electromagnet toward an optimum position with reference to an object which is to be lifted and transported, e.g., to the treating station of a machine tool.

    摘要: A rapid transportation system which includes a channel trackway with electromagnets positioned therealong. The magnets are individually energizable and are arranged to support and propel the pallets associated therewith. The pallets are arranged to support a motor vehicle, a passenger pod, a freight pod, or a work pod. The magnets of the trackway are used to divert a pallet from the main trackway to adjacent trackways such as a station or depot through a switch having no moving parts. A mechanical diverter is provided for preventing a pallet from becoming lodged in a partially switched condition to thereby tie-up the system.

    摘要: A manipulator for vacuum applications, e.g., for positioning of a specimen at a required point in a vacuum chamber (20) where the specimen can be subjected to ion implantation or similar treatment or measuring procedures, comprises an adjustable angular connector (12) which is formed by two skewed rings (32) and (36) which slide one over another. When the rings rotate, the end of drive shaft (72) describes a planetary path along a circle. The drive shaft (72) has one end connected to a rotary drive mechanism (14) and another end to a driven shaft (92) through a universal joint (90). The lower end of the driven shaft is installed in a rotating manner in a slide (87). The slide (87) is guided in one direction along another slide (84) which in turn is guided in a direction perpendicular to the first one along a rigid frame (80). Planetary motion of driven shaft (92) causes linear motions of the slides (84, 87) in mutually perpendicular directions. As a result, the second slide (87), which carries a sample holder (18), can be installed in any required position within an orthogonal system of coordinates. In addition, the sample holder is rotated from the above-mentioned rotary drive mechanism. The manipulator moves the sample holder with high accuracy since the slide (84) is guided in the rigid frame (80).

    摘要: A device for tracking a movable body along a linear path parallel to a plane includes a linear motor for driving the body along the linear path. The body is mounted, as by rollers, for movement along a guide, such as a pair of parallel guide rails, supported on a base which also supports the motor. To enhance stability of the body during tracking movement, the rollers or other mounts for the body are urged against the guide by the magnetic action of a flux which is separate from the principal flux used to generate thrust for the linear motor and which provides an attractive force against preferably a pair of members, such as steel plates, of high magnetic permeability fixed to the movable body.

    摘要: An arrangement for unscrambling ferromagnetic coil springs from a pile of coil springs, and conducting the coil springs to a work station. A cassette containing a disorganized pile of springs is provided with a first surface having openings, and discharge tubes associated therewith. A second surface which adjoins the first surface is provided with impact edges for controlling the upwardly vertical travel of the coil springs in response to a traveling electromagnetic field which, in one embodiment, is produced by a linear motor stator. The linear motor stator is arranged at an angle with respect to the second surface of the cassette, the apex of the acute angle being arranged at the junction between the first and second surfaces of the cassette. The traveling electromagnetic field attracts the springs to the second surface and causes them to travel upwardly until they encounter the impact edges. The inclination of the second surface with respect to the linear motor stator causes the springs to be conveyed into the discharge tubes.
