摘要: A process for producing an unsaturated isoolefin copolymer involves: sonicating a solution of an initiator system in an organic solvent, the initiator system comprising a Lewis acid catalyst and a proton source, to produce a sonicated initiator solution, the sonicating performed at an energy input of 100 J/mL or greater, based on volume of the initiator solution; and then, contacting the sonicated initiator solution with a reaction mixture of at least one isoolefin monomer and at least one copolymerizable unsaturated monomer in an organic diluent to produce the unsaturated isoolefin copolymer. Sonication of the initiator solution improves catalyst activity, thereby improving conversion of the monomers during production of the unsaturated isoolefin copolymer.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a preparation method of a homogeneous rare earth catalyst. In the present disclosure, a depolymerizing agent is introduced into the homogeneous rare earth catalyst to promote complete depolymerization of an alkyl aluminum trimer into monomolecular alkyl aluminum. As a result, there is an increase in the number of the alkyl aluminum which serves as an effective chain transfer agent, resulting in a greatly improved chain transfer rate, such that a polymerization system has completed the chain transfer in an early stage of the reaction. Accordingly, an aluminum terminal molecular chain has an increased concentration, leading to an accelerated exchange with an active center propagating chain and a decreased influence caused by an increased viscosity of the system, maintaining living polymerization of the system.

摘要: A process for producing a halogenated isoolefin copolymer involves contacting an unsaturated isoolefin copolymer cement, the cement containing an unsaturated isoolefin copolymer dissolved in an organic solvent, under halogenation conditions with a halogenating agent and an aqueous solution of an organic peracid oxidant to form a two-phase reaction medium having an organic phase and an aqueous phase, the organic peracid oxidant capable of converting hydrogen halide to free halogen. The process leads to higher halogen utilization even when the cement contains significant amounts of water and without the use of an emulsifier.

In this way, the first component and/or second component are supplied at least partially via the evaporative cooler (40) and moved from the evaporative cooler (40) into the reactor (50). The invention also relates to a system for producing a polymer, comprising a reactor (50) and an evaporative cooler (40) for discharging reaction heat in the reactor (50). In addition, the evaporative cooler (40) has at least one filling opening (46) for filling in the first and/or second component.

摘要: Butyl rubber, a preparation method therefor, and an application thereof, and a composition and rubber product containing the butyl rubber. The butyl rubber comprises a structural unit derived from isobutylene, a structural unit derived from conjugated diene, and a structural unit selectively derived from aryl olefin represented by formula I, at least a part of the conjugated diene being isoprene. Also provided are an automobile tire inner liner, tube and curing bladder made of the butyl rubber. The butyl rubber has good processability and compounding properties, die swell ratio and integrated mechanical properties, and particularly high tear strength. The butyl rubber can effectively reduce power consumption in the processing and compounding process, and the prepared product has good dimensional stability and application performance.

摘要: Functionalized copolymers of isoolefins and conjugated diolefins, methods of preparing the copolymers, and their use as compatibilizers are disclosed. The diolefin monomer units of the co-polymer are modified at the C—C double bond along the backbone of the copolymer to include an oxygen containing functional group such as epoxide, ester or alcohol. The functionalized copolymers improve the wettability of a non-hydrophilic surface towards hydrophilic polymer and allows for the formation of homogenous layers of the hydrophilic polymers. In particular, the spreading of a hydrophilic polymer on a non-hydrophilic substrate is facilitated by applying the co-polymers as an interfacial layer between the two incompatible materials. The resulting coated substrates exhibit resistance to protein adsorption and cell growth after grafting. The co-polymers are especially suited in the coating of biomedical devices where a high degree of uniformity of the coated surface is required.
