摘要: A use of a hemimellitic acid ester of formula I as a base oil a lubricant composition for lubricating tribological systems. In some embodiments, R1, R2 and R3, are independently of one another: a C5 to C20 aromatic group, a C5 to C20 cycloalkyl group, an unsubstituted, branched or unbranched C1 to C20 alkyl group, and/or a C1 to C5 alkyl group comprising at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of cycloalkyl groups and aromatic groups. In some embodiments, the hemimellitic acid ester of formula I is provided as a mixture of different compounds of formula I and/or the hemimellitic acid ester of formula I comprises groups R1, R2 and R3 at least partially differing from one another.

摘要: The invention relates to a pretreatment process for improving the filling of a chamber with solid particles, in which said solid particles are mixed before loading of said solid particles into the chamber with at least one lubricant that is solid at ambient temperature chosen from saturated fatty acids having 14 or more carbon atoms, metal salts of saturated fatty acids having 14 or more carbon atoms, esters of fatty acids having 14 or more carbon atoms, fatty alcohols having 14 or more carbon atoms, linear N-alkanes having 16 or more carbon atoms in solid form, fumaric acid, talc, sodium stearoyl fumarate, the lubricant being introduced at a content of between 0.01% and 1% relative to the total weight of the mixture of solid particles and lubricant. The invention also relates to the use of the process for the pretreatment of particles of adsorbents for the separation of xylenes.

摘要: A method for improving fuel efficiency and energy efficiency, while maintaining or improving deposit control and cleanliness performance, in an engine lubricated with a lubricating oil by using as the lubricating oil a formulated oil. The formulated oil includes a base oil mixture. The base oil mixture includes a lubricating oil base stock as a major component, and at least one cobase stock, as a minor component. The at least one cobase stock is present in an amount sufficient to reduce kinematic viscosity (Kv100) of the base oil mixture as determined by ASTM D445, while maintaining or controlling cold cranking simulator viscosity (CCSV) of the lubricating oil as determined by ASTM D5293-15, such that the lubricating oil meets both kinematic viscosity (Kv100) and cold cranking simulator viscosity (CCSV) requirements for a SAE engine oil grade as determined by SAE J300 viscosity grade classification system. A lubricating oil having a composition including a lubricating oil base stock as a major component, and at least one cobase stock, as a minor component.

摘要: A method for preventing or reducing engine knock or pre-ignition in a high compression spark ignition engine lubricated with a lubricating oil by introducing to a combustion chamber of the engine from 0.1 to 5% by volume of the gasoline used a lubricating oil as a formulated oil, said formulated oil having a composition comprising (i) a major amount of a lubricating oil base stock comprising at least 80% by weight of one branched ester having at least 15% of the total carbons in the form of methyl groups, and (ii) a minor amount of at least one ashless amine phosphate antiwear additive. Also provided is a lubricating engine oil for high compression spark ignition engines including (i) a major amount of a lubricating oil base stock comprising at least 80% by weight formula I below: esterified (per —OH basis) with 25 to 100% isobutyric acid and 0 to 75% 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoic acid, wherein R is a H, methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, or isobutyl, and (ii) a minor amount of at least one amine phosphate ashless antiwear additive.
