    摘要: The invention provides a seam structure for fabric and a sewing method which are aesthetically superior and by which pieces of fabric can be sewn together smoothly, without a sewn-on portion protruding at the reverse surface of a garment that comes in contact with the skin, and without fabric edges being exposed at the front surface of the garment.On the upper face of one piece of fabric 2, there extends, along an edge 2a of the fabric, a stitch 5 that is formed as a result of a part of a needle thread 6 passing through the fabric to reach a lower face thereof through stitch holes 4 that are provided at regular intervals; on an upper face of another piece of fabric 3, there are arrayed, along an edge 3a of the fabric, a plurality of rings 7 that are formed as a result of protrusion of an annular leading end of the needle thread 6 having passed through the stitch holes 4 of the one piece of fabric 2 and through the lower faces of the two pieces of fabric; and a first looper thread 8, which runs in a zigzagging manner on the fabric upper faces towards the other piece of fabric 3 so as to entwine two needle threads that pass through the stitch holes 4 of the one piece of fabric 2, and the rings 7 that protrude beyond the other piece of fabric 3, are linked by a second looper thread 9, to yield a seam structure for fabric in which the two pieces of fabric are joined in a state where respective edges thereof are connected to each other.

    摘要: An automated sewing system and method for overedge sewing a cuff edge of a knit glove to inhibit the glove cuff edge from unraveling is disclosed. The present invention permits an oversew pattern to be sewn into the seam thereby locking the stitches. The oversew pattern length and run-off angle is maintained consistent between workpieces and is predetermined. A length of thread chain extending from the sewn cuff edge and the length of thread chain remaining on the finished glove is automatically controlled by the present invention. Additionally, the present invention permits a label to be automatically inserted at a predetermined location into the sewn seam on the glove. Moreover, the present invention permits a tensioned elastic strip to be conjointly inserted into the sewn cuff edge thereby elasticizing the cuff edge of the glove.

    摘要: Corner controller (62) (FIG. 5) includes a conically shaped corner control wheel (90) that is rotated so as to apply a sweeping motion against the facing surface of the textile segment (12). This results in removing any folds or wrinkles from the textile segment as it moves to the sewing station (64). The corner control wheel is up the sewing path, ahead of the turning axis (111) of the textile segment. Therefore, when the textile segment is turned by the turning plate (45) through 90.degree. to form a curved corner about the textile segment (FIG. 6), the corner control wheel (90) urges the corner to move through its turning motion, so as to avoid nonuniform turning of the corner and any wrinkling of the corner material, and therefore avoiding the doubling up or bunching of the stitches formed about the rounded corner of the final textile segment.

    摘要: In a trimming sewing machine of the type adapted to carry out a two-thread overedge stitch, provision is made for a hooked element (15) integrally associated with the upper looper (10), which hooked element has an end work portion (15a) disposed in parallel side by side relation with the end work portion (10b) of the upper looper. The hooked element (15) engages the sewing thread (3) carried by the needle (2) at the beginning of the downward stroke of the needle. Following the downward stroke of the upper looper (10), the hooked element (15) drags along the sewing thread (3) beyond the lateral edge (5a) of the workpiece (5). Thus paired finishing portions (17a, 17b) are formed along the sewing thread (3) and they extend from each of the insertion points of the needle (2) into the workpiece (5) as far as close to the lateral edge (5a) of the workpiece (5).

    摘要: A lock stitch machine capable of being selectively set for either an overcasting mode or a hemming mode. A needle plate tongue is shifted between an operative position and an inoperative position in a region separated from the operating region of the looper, along a path substantially resembling a circular arc for a vertical displacement and a horizontal displacement greater than the vertical displacement, by turning an overcasting width adjusting knob which turns a control shaft. Thus, the needle plate tongue can be shifted between the operative position and the inoperative position regardless of the position of the looper thereby facilitating the stitching mode changing operation.

    摘要: A looper drive cam is formed of a cylindrical cam which is fixed to a main shaft so that its axis is inclined thereto at an angle of .theta.. A looper drive fork forming an U-shaped cam follower is attached to a looper drive shaft, and is engaged with the inclined cam. The fork is attached to the looper drive shaft with a degree of freedom which allows for deviation between axes of the main shaft and the looper drive shaft. As the main shaft rotates, a cam face of the inclined cam changes in a range of .+-..theta. in a plane containing the main shaft, so that the fork rotates to rotate the looper drive shaft. Owing to the freedom of degree of the fork thus attached, the motion is transmitted smoothly, and wear and rattling are prevented.
