    摘要： A device that attaches to a standard fabric compactor and allows narrow collar material to be processed through the standard fabric compactor. The device includes a pair of air openers. Each air opener includes an air inlet assembly and an air outlet assembly. The air inlet assembly of each air opener pulls air therein to form pulled air and pressurizes the pulled air to form pressurized air. The air outlet assembly of each air opener fluidly communicates with the air inlet assembly of an associated air opener, receives the narrow collar material therethrough, receives the pressurized air from the air inlet assembly of the associated air opener, and directs the pressurized air onto the narrow collar material, simultaneously from above and below, and in doing so, suspends the narrow collar material allowing the narrow collar material to be processed through the standard fabric compactor.

    摘要： Aspects hereof relate to a multi-frame manufacturing apparatus for manufacturing articles from non-rigid materials and methods for manufacturing articles utilizing a multi-frame manufacturing apparatus. The multi-frame manufacturing apparatus includes a plurality of discrete frames, each frame including a movement mechanism that enables it to move between sequentially arranged processing stations. Each movement mechanism permits substantially horizontal movement forward and backward. The movement mechanism for at least one of the frames permits substantially vertical movement both up and down. Actuation of the movement mechanisms for at least two frames may permit the frames to switch their relative positions. Each frame additionally includes at least one gripping mechanism for temporarily securing non-rigid material in place on the framed for processing.

    摘要： Textile articles to be treated are fed on to shapes fitted to supporting members. Gliding independently each other on a platform of the boarding or semi-boarding machine, and positioned in mutual contact at respective sides along a polygonal pathway defined by a guiding device. The supporting members are transported in step along the polygonal pathway, by the engagement with a towing device acting independently at each linear stretch of the polygonal pathway, so that in each step at least one position at the concurrence of two linear stretches of the polygonal pathway is maintained unoccupied. At least one of the supporting members, on which the textile articles to be treated are fed, is arranged in a halt position upstream from a semi-boarding station and then is moved to take the shapes into the semi-boarding station. After the semi-boarding treatment, this supporting member is transferred to a station where the textile articles, treated, are extracted from the shapes.

    摘要： A tubular knit fabric descending from a knitting head is spread and flattened by a fabric spreader disposed within the fabric just above a pair of take-down rolls forming a nip through which the fabric passes. The spreader comprises a generally flat frame formed by tubular members. The tubular members include a pair of U-shaped sections having open ends spaced apart and facing each other, and having closed ends defining opposite fabric-engaging edge surfaces of the frame. First legs of the U-shaped sections are telescopingly and adjustably joined to a tubular center section, the center section and first legs collectively forming a roll-engaging member for pressing the fabric against the take-down rolls. The width of the spreader is adjusted by releasing screws fixing the center section to the U-shaped sections, sliding the U-shaped sections inward or outward, and using the screws to fix the frame at the new width. The roll-engaging member preferably has a diameter of about 70 to about 100 percent of the diameter of the take-down rolls. Fabric tension can be varied by adding weight to or removing weight from the interior of the roll-engaging member.

    摘要： An apparatus for processing socks in nested pairs includes the frame and a plurality of processing stations which may include a trimming station, a pressing station, a printing station, and a doffing station as well as a nesting station. The nesting station includes the frame, an assembly mounted to the frame for supporting and positioning a second sock to be disposed in an overlying relationship with the first sock but with both socks being an extended generally flatten condition. The nesting assembly further includes an assembly mounted to the frame for supporting the first sock in an extended, generally flatten condition including an arrangement for retaining the first sock with the one end thereof and an open condition sufficient to receive the second sock in a generally extended and flatten condition and an assembly mounted to the frame for directing the first sock into an overlying relationship with a second sock resulting in the outer surface of the second sock being in contact with the inner surface of the first sock, thereby nesting the sock.
