摘要: The invention relates to a foldable/deployable structure (1) comprising: —a mast (4) which can be deployed along a longitudinal deployment axis, the mast being designed to be placed either in a folded state requiring little axial installation space, or in a deployed state having a predetermined shape, —a base (10) upon which the deployable mast (4) is rested, the structure (1, 2) further comprising a bracing device, the bracing device: —having at least three points for attachment to the base (10) and at least three points for attachment to the mast (4), the bracing device connecting the base to the mast; —being designed to limit the transverse movements of the mast relative to the base (10) at least when the mast (4) is in a deployed state, and; —comprising at least one connecting member (22, 42, 60) chosen from the group formed by fabrics, non-woven fabrics and ties, the ties being chosen from the group formed by monofilaments, cables, bundles and strips; the structure (1, 2) being characterised in that it comprises a device (30) for tensioning each connecting member of the bracing device when the mast (4) is in the deployed state, the tensioning device (30) enabling a proximal end of the mast (4) to be maintained in the deployed state, at a distance from the base (10) greater than the distance separating the proximal end of the mast (4) from the base (10) when the mast is in the folded state.

摘要: A deployable mast structure (100) is disclosed, comprising a body configured to adopt a tubular shape when the mast structure is in a deployed configuration, and a plurality of openings (102) formed in a wall of the body so as to define a plurality of integral tape-spring hinges (103) in the wall of the body, the plurality of openings being configured so as to permit the body to collapse along its longitudinal axis into a stowed configuration when the tape-spring hinges are buckled. In the stowed configuration, the integral tape-spring hinges are configured to exert a force which urges the structure towards the deployed configuration. Since the mast structure collapses along its longitudinal axis, the structure only occupies a small volume in the stowed configuration. A method of fabricating the deployable mast structure from a layered composite material is also disclosed.

摘要: A method of forming a support pole, comprising splitting one or more canes of bamboo, or similar tubular plant material, into a plurality of split lengths; inserting a bundle of the split lengths from one or more canes into an outer tube (4); tilting the outer tube (4) at an angle from horizontal and injecting a matrix material into the outer tube (4) so as to fill in between the split lengths and encapsulate the split lengths to form a substantially solid core. The method may comprise injecting the matrix material at multiple injection points (25a, 25b, 25c, 25d) along the length of the tube (4).

摘要: A device, a system and a method are for attaching a crossbar to a hollow composite pylon where the crossbar is arranged to carry at least one conductor. The hollow composite pylon, the crossbar and the conductor form components of a pylon structure for the transmission or distribution of power. The device has an adapter, which, in the position of application, is pivotably attached to the crossbar, is slideable at least into or over the, in the position of application, upper end portion of the hollow composite pylon and mainly along the longitudinal axis of the hollow composite pylon during part of the installation phase.

摘要: The present invention is a polymeric panel system and method for production and use thereof, enabling the rapid construction of a building foundation wall or other structure and in particular a below-grade foundation. The polymeric foundation system includes polymeric wall panels and other components suitable for withstanding lateral and end compression loads. The walls include two parallel faces separated by a series of webs or ribs, where the webs and faces of the wall panels may be formed of a similar polymer material such as polyvinylchloride (PVC). The wall panels and/or other components may be extruded so as to enable the rapid production of sections of wall panels, where the panels may be cut to length and then affixed to adjacent panels to form a foundation wall. The method of affixing adjacent panels may include welding, gluing or other techniques and may be performed on the job site or in a pre-fabrication facility. Furthermore, the wall panels may be co-extruded with an insulating material inserted in the voids between the parallel faces so as to provide improved thermal performance of the foundation as well.
