Abstract: A fluid metering valve comprises a valve body including an inlet opening and an outlet opening. A seal ring is installed within the valve body and defines an opening in communication with the inlet opening and the outlet opening. A valve assembly is arranged at least partially within the valve body and includes a valve stem and a piston moveably mounted to the valve stem with at least one degree of freedom. The piston is moveable into and out of sealing contact with the seal ring via the stem for selectively permitting fluid flow between the inlet opening and the outlet opening through the opening in the seal ring.

Abstract: A piston-diaphragm assembly for a valve with a piston comprising a stem and a needle. The stem comprises a piston groove with a groove proximal rim. The needle is attached to a stem distal end. The assembly comprises a diaphragm with a peripheral annular ring, an internal annular ring received in the piston groove for attaching the diaphragm thereto, and an annular membrane connecting the annular rings. The needle comprises a crown, which surrounds the stem and externally covers the internal annular ring and which comprises a crown rim, which ends the crown at the groove proximal rim. The diaphragm is radially interposed between the groove proximal rim and the crown rim, being in contact with the crown rim.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a valve comprising a body having a central conduit accommodating a sliding piston and a diaphragm connecting the body to the piston surrounding the piston. The diaphragm comprises an annular membrane for separating the central conduit from a pressurized fluid chamber. The body comprises an annular cradle, which extends radially between the central conduit and a peripheral annular ring of the diaphragm. The diaphragm takes an initial shape, where the annular membrane is distant from the annular cradle, when the piston is in a distal position and no overpressure occurs. The diaphragm is elastically deformed into stretched shapes, where the annular membrane comes in contact and mates with the annular cradle, under the effect of an overpressure occurring in the pressurized fluid chamber.

Abstract: A backflow prevention assembly includes a body forming two buckets, wherein flow passes through the body from an inlet to an outlet along an axis and consecutively through each of the buckets. A single zone test cover encloses a first of the buckets to form a single zone chamber. A dual zone test cover encloses a second of the buckets with a dual zone cartridge assembly therein. The dual zone test cover has two test cocks. The dual zone cartridge assembly includes a frame having a valve seat, wherein the frame includes a lumen providing fluid communication from a dual zone chamber upstream of the valve seat to a first of the two test cocks of the dual zone test cover, and wherein the second of the two test cocks of the dual zone test cover is in fluid communication with the dual zone chamber downstream of the valve seat.

Abstract: A spring-operated relief valve can include a biasing assembly, a valve inlet, a valve seat, a disc assembly that is biased toward the valve seat by the biasing assembly, and a disc insert secured to the disc holder. The disc insert can include a body, a sealing surface to seal against the valve seat, and a groove formed in the sealing surface of the disc insert, the groove to operate as a fluid guide to divert a portion of fluid flow during a relief event into the groove. The disc holder can extend past the sealing surface of the disc insert to direct fluid flow during a relief event.

Abstract: A hydrocarbon dispensation line pressure sensor adapted to work without requirement of a separate closed valve. The system closes the dispensation line upstream via an isolation valve. The pressure can be sensed from the dispensation line through the valve to provide dispensation line pressure. A channel in fluid communication with the dispensation line may be provided to allow pressure measurement apart from the main dispensation line. Further, a method for measuring the pressure drop profile of a dispensation line and various methods to determine the pressure loss due to leaks in dispensation line.

Abstract: A pressure relief valve for a two-phase immersion cooling system is configured to support fluid flow rates up to 500 cfm, 550 cfm, 600 cfm, or even 2000 cfm. This, in turn, allows the cooling system to support computing systems with a power density greater than 250 kW. This is accomplished by the valve having a relatively large passage (e.g., 2-6 inch diameter), a relatively large spring (e.g., 1.5-1.7 inch diameter), and a guide rod rigidly coupled to the poppet and slidably coupled to a guide plate. The valve may be used as an outlet valve and coupled to an adsorbent chamber to reduce the loss of coolant from the system as air is vented to an ambient environment. The valve may be used as an inlet valve and coupled to an adsorbent chamber to reduce the intake of water vapor as air from the ambient environment flows into the system.

Abstract: A valve assembly has a housing and a poppet-carrying portion. The housing includes an inlet port, an outlet port, an opening, and a assembly portion including helical grooves. The poppet-carrying portion is configured to be inserted through the opening and engage with the assembly portion. The poppet-carrying portion comprises a poppet head, a closure including protruding arms, convolutions, and a stopping portion. The convolutions extend between the poppet head and the closure and provide compliance such that the poppet head is movable relative to the closure. The stopping portion extends from the closure toward the poppet head and is spaced apart from the poppet head by a maximum compression distance. At a first fluid pressure, the protruding arms engage with the helical grooves, and the poppet head is positioned in a pre-load position that prevents the fluid from discharging through the outlet port.
