摘要: A choke can include a variable flow restrictor, external ports in communication with a flow passage respectively upstream and downstream of the flow restrictor, and sensor(s) in communication with the external ports. A method can include flowing a well fluid through a flow passage in a body of a choke including a variable flow restrictor, measuring a pressure differential between external ports in communication with respective upstream and downstream sides of the flow restrictor, and operating the flow restrictor, thereby varying a restriction to the flow through the flow passage, in response to the measured pressure differential. A well system can include a well fluid pump, a flow choke including a variable flow restrictor operable by an actuator that includes a displaceable stem and a stem seal that isolates the actuator from the well fluid in the flow choke, and a control system that operates the actuator.

摘要: A pressure-testing system for a tubular product. Preferably, the tubular product is a joint or a stand of production tubing. The pressure testing assembly includes a controller; a fluid reservoir configured to contain a test fluid; a pump in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir; a fluid hose having a first end configured to receive the test fluid from the reservoir, and a second end configured to be fluidically connected to a hydrotest tool for the tubular product; and a transducer. The transducer sends signals to the controller indicative of pressure within the fluid hose. The controller is programmed to automatically (i) store a pressure threshold value (T) and (ii) store a pressure test value (PT) such that when pressure in the fluid hose reaches (T) or when pressure in the fluid hose reaches (PT), the controller sends a signal to a diverter to divert a direction of fluid being pumped so that fluid is no longer pumped into tubular product.

摘要: In an example method a system obtains first data regarding a first oil well, including one or more first thermal images of the oil well generated by one or more first thermal cameras. The system determines, using computerized neural network, a presence of a gas leak at one or more locations on the first oil well based on the first data. The one or more locations include at least one of a first location along a pipeline configured to convey gas to a flare area of the first oil well, or a second location at a rig floor of the first oil well. In response to determining the presence of the gas leak at the one or more locations, the system generates a notification indicating the presence of the gas leak at the one or more locations.

摘要: A method for operating a wellbore system for producing hydrocarbons from a wellbore in an underground formation in which a working fluid is circulated through the wellbore during operation. The method includes detecting a loss of the working fluid, allocating the loss to one or more layers of the underground formation, determining a ballooning potential of the wellbore based on the allocated loss and a lithology of the one or more layers of the underground formation, detecting an increase in a return flow of the working fluid from the wellbore, and comparing the increase in the return flow to the ballooning potential of the wellbore to determine whether the increase in the return flow is due to an influx of formation fluid into the wellbore. Remedial action may be taken in response to a determination that the increase in the return flow is due to an influx of formation fluid.

摘要: Provided are techniques for operating a hydrocarbon well system that include installing a wellhead seal assembly at a wellhead of a hydrocarbon well system, conducting pressure testing of a wellhead seal cavity defined by the seal assembly to verify its integrity, disposing a control fluid into the wellhead seal cavity, conducting baseline ultrasonic imaging of the wellhead seal cavity to generate a baseline ultrasonic image that depicts a signature of the control fluid disposed in the wellhead seal cavity at a first point in time, conducting updated ultrasonic imaging of the wellhead seal cavity to generate an updated ultrasonic image that depicts a signature of substances disposed in the wellhead seal cavity at a second point in time, comparing the updated ultrasonic image to the baseline ultrasonic image to determine whether the integrity of the wellhead seal cavity has been compromised.
