The pointer (11) is routed around the rear of the indication panel (100) to reach the front of the indication plate (200). The indication instrument further comprises a frame (300) for joining to each other the indication panel (100), the indication plate (200), and the light source (700). An illumination chamber (R1) for guiding the light of the light source (700) to the indication plate (200) is formed in the frame (300).

The first and the second layers are formed with halftone dots printed at regular intervals in gradation patterns so that brightness gradually changes. The first and the second layers are arranged in parallel to each other yet rotated relative to each other by a predetermined angle measured between directions in which the halftone dots are aligned in the first and the second layers.

摘要: Disclosed is an indicator which includes a scale plate having a ground color, a pointer rotatably mounted on the scale plate and indicia such as numerals and scales arranged on the scale plate for indicating a specific value in cooperation with the pointer. The pointer includes an upper surface on which a fluorescent part having fluorescent brightener therein is formed, and the area of the fluorescent part of the pointer is smaller than that of the upper surface of the pointer. Each of the indicia has a contour defined by a normal ink having a different color from the ground color of the scale plate and a fluorescent part having fluorescent brightener therein formed in the contour of each indicia. The area of the fluorescent part of the indicia is smaller than that of the indicia. This indicator further includes an unltraviolet light source for illuminating the fluorescent parts of the pointer and the indicia so as to fluoresce only when the ultraviolet light source is turned on, whereby suppressing that the indicia and pointer become too bright and distracting for a driver when illuminated by the ultraviolet light source.

摘要: An electroluminescent display which is simple to manufacture and which is capable of high luminance consists of a transparent electrode disposed on a transparent substrate. On the transparent electrode are sequentially laminated layers including a fluorescent print pattern layer, a luminescent layer, an insulating layer and a rear electrode layer. The fluorescent layer is preferably formed of a fluorescent pigment and a fluoride resin binder and is provided at a portion of the electroluminescent display at which a display is to be created, such as the time indicating indicia on the dial of a timepiece. In a preferred embodiment, the electroluminescent display is provided as a timepiece dial and has a central hole therethrough for providing shafts for driving an hour hand, a minute hand and a second hand. Upon application of an electric field between the display electrodes, portions of the luminescent layer other than those which correspond to the time indicia emit light with a luminescent color dependent upon the material of the luminescent layer. The luminescent color becomes the background color of the dial. The time indicia portion formed of the patterned fluorescent layer produces secondary luminescence in response to the light emitted by the luminescent layer and received by the fluorescent layer, such that the printed time indicia emits fluorescent light with a bright fluorescent color in contrast with the luminescent background color.
