摘要： In an indicating-needle type meter device, when starting excitation of a stepping motor, a controller sets the phase of an excitation signal to a predetermined excitation start position and returns the phase of the excitation signal by a predetermined reversal angle such that an indicating-needle rotates in the backward direction, thereby positioning the indicating-needle at a stopper position. Subsequently, the controller advances the phase of the excitation signal by an origin return angle to rotate the indicating-needle in the forward direction to an origin position apart from the stopper position by a predetermined angle, thereby positioning the indicating-needle at the origin position. Here, the origin return angle is an angle obtained by adding a backlash angle, a predetermined positive pre-offset angle, and a positive placing error correction angle set based on a placing error of the indicating-needle with respect to the stopper.

摘要： A light guide apparatus for use on a motor vehicle instrument panel is disclosed. In order to bring as much light as possible into a dial pointer 20, the panel has a translucent plate 22, the front face of which forms the dial face. Light is introduced into the translucent plate through a plurality of light pipes 44, and is then directed into a catchment area 30 for pointer illumination by converging facets 35,38 formed in the plate. The facets are arranged with a wide opening which receives light traveling in the plate and with a tapering or converging area in which the light incident in the wide opening is continuously reflected into the pointer illumination catchment area.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a display device for a vehicle which assures that visual recognizability can be improved by using a circular disc-shaped pointer while the pointer and characters, calibrations or the like on a dial overlap each other. A circular disc-shaped pointer composed of a polarized plate and including a slit-shaped indicating portion radially extending from the central part and the outer peripheral part of the pointer is arranged in front of a dial composed of a polarizing plate and having characters, calibrations or the like placed thereon. In addition, a light source is arranged behind the dial so as to illuminate the pointer with the light beam emitted therefrom. A movement is disposed at the central part of the light source to turn the pointer. The polarizing direction of the dial and the polarizing direction of the pointer are determined such that the light beam emitted from the light source permeates through the limited region where the characters, calibrations or the like on the dial overlap the indicating portion 1a of the pointer.

摘要： A composite filter advantageously employable for dark field observation systems which comprises a dyed organic resin layer provided on a dyed glass plate. The organic resin layer and the glass plate in combination absorb light of a radiation spectrum in the region of longer than 600 nm under the condition that the transmission of light at 650 nm is defined to a level of 1.times.10.sup.-4 % to 5% and the transmission of light at 800 nm is defined to a level of lower than 2.times.10.sup.-5 %. Another dyed glass plate which shows an absorption spectrum having absorption peaks in regions of 480-535 nm and 560-600 nm may be incorporated into the composite filter. The composite filter can be introduced into or provided to an illuminating device.
