摘要: An electronic device includes a movable assembly. An optical proximity sensor is disposed on the movable assembly. The movable assembly may be spaced from a fixed assembly on the electronic device, and the movable assembly can move on a plane that is disposed in parallel relative to the fixed assembly. A light intensity of light that is from the optical proximity sensor and that is reflected by the fixed assembly may reflect a position of the movable assembly relative to the fixed assembly. Whether the movable assembly moves to a specified target position may be determined based on the light intensity of the light that is reflected by the fixed assembly and that is detected by the optical proximity sensor.

摘要: An emitter and a receiver in a light barrier system are aligned by placing one or more retroreflective elements in a vicinity of the receiver such that a beam of visible light emitted by an optical alignment element impinges on a retroreflective element when the light beam emitted by the emitter impinges on the receiver. 摘要: Embodiments are directed towards a safety system that can be used with a high-flux power beam, such as in wireless power transmission. The system includes a transmitter that generates and transmits a power beam and a receiver that receives the power beam. A plurality of sensors is configured to independently detect if an object is near, impeding, or about to impede (i.e., impinging) the power beam. Each of the plurality of sensors is configured to detect the object at different distances between the transmitter and the receiver. A controller triggers the transmitter to stop generating the power beam when any one or more of the plurality of sensors detects the object or a combination of the plurality of sensors detects the object. The controller triggers the transmitter to re-generate and transmit the power beam when each of the plurality of sensors fails to detect the object.

In an illustrative example, the optical path may include a coaxial transceiver module that includes a beam splitter mirror to redirect the optical path. In some embodiments, a bifurcated lens may provide, for example, a lateral offset of the emitter axis through one lens, and the return axis through an adjacent parallel lens. The second photo-detector may provide, for example, an array of one or more detection surfaces to detect off-axis light associated with a diffuse reflective object, such as a white card, for example.
