摘要: A vehicle power system including a fuel cell auxiliary power unit for providing clean, efficient power to a vehicle. The system generally includes a fuel cell with a first DC output and a heat output, a pressure vessel adapted to contain and provide pressurized hydrogen to the fuel cell, an electrical storage unit with a DC input coupled to the first DC output of the fuel cell. The electrical storage unit also has a second DC output. An inverter is coupled to the second DC output of the electrical storage unit to receive power, the inverter having a first AC output. The system can provide heat, AC power, and DC power to the vehicle.

摘要: According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a power management system (e.g., a power management for a fuel cell or a fuel cell system) includes a fuel cell to generate an electrical power output; a metastable hydrogen carrier to supply hydrogen to the fuel cell; a heater coupled with the metastable hydrogen carrier; and a controller coupled to the heater to control a rate of hydrogen release from the metastable hydrogen carrier. A method of operating a fuel cell system includes controlling an electrical power input to a heater utilizing a controller; heating a metastable hydrogen carrier to a temperature by the heater and to generate hydrogen to feed a fuel cell. The heater is coupled to the controller, and the controller controls the electrical power input to the heater according to a relationship between a rate of hydrogen release and the temperature and a composition of the metastable hydrogen carrier.

摘要: The present specification discloses a membrane reactor comprising a reaction region; a permeate region; and a composite membrane disposed at a boundary of the reaction region and the permeate region, wherein the reaction region comprises a bed filled with a catalyst for dehydrogenation reaction, wherein the composite membrane comprises a support layer including a metal with a body-centered-cubic (BCC) crystal structure, and a catalyst layer including a palladium (Pd) or a palladium alloy formed onto the support layer, wherein ammonia (NH3) is supplied to the reaction region, the ammonia is converted into hydrogen (H2) by the dehydrogenation reaction in the presence of the catalyst for dehydrogenation reaction, and the hydrogen permeates the composite membrane and is emitted from the membrane reactor through the permeate region.

The process involves taking a hydrogen feed stream from a high-pressure tank and passing it through a purifier comprising an adsorbent to provide a purified hydrogen stream which is sent to a fuel cell. A particular adsorbent which can be used is a metal-organic framework composition. The adsorbent can be housed in a device such as a canister or cartridge having an inlet and outlet port.

摘要: A fuel cell system using natural gas, which includes a fuel cell including a cathode and an anode and a cryogenic heat-exchanging apparatus configured to heat-exchange natural gas supplied from a natural gas station with introduced air or exhaust gas of the fuel cell. With the configuration, oxygen which is introduced into the fuel cell can be produced using cold energy of the natural gas, and energy consumed for the oxygen production can be reduced. Also, a discharge of seawater of low temperature can be minimized, thereby reducing negative effects caused by the discharge.
