Abstract:
A method and composition for preventing prostate cancer and/or reducing PSA levels and/or alleviating the symptoms of BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) or PIN (prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia) by administration of an effective amount of a mixture of flavopereirine and alstonine. A method and composition for treating low-grade prostate cancer and preventing the onset of metastatic disease and/or reducing the doubling time of PSA levels in men with positive biopsies showing relatively low Gleason scores and morphologies characteristic of non-invasive, slow-progressing prostate cancer. The flavopereirine and alstonine can be in the form of natural extracts derived from Pao Pereira and Rauwolfia Vomitoria , respectively. Alternatively, these two active compounds can be administered in purified form. The composition can be in included in a kit along with instructions for use in a treatment regimen.
Abstract:
One embodiment of a brake drum includes a cylindrical main body portion (12), a brake drum mounting flange portion (18), a brake drum transition portion (24), the brake drum transition portion extending between the cylindrical main body portion and the mounting flange portion, the transition portion having a plurality of vent openings (28), and one air scoop secured (34) at each of the vent openings, whereby rotation of the brake drum and air scoop induces air movement within a brake drum cavity defined by the main body portion. Each air scoop defines a louver opening (62) which faces the angular direction of drum rotation, an air channel in fluid communication with the louver opening and the brake drum cavity, and a deflection surface (64) located in the air channel. The deflection surface is positioned to re-direct air movement entering the louver opening at an angular direction, to a generally radial and inboard direction.

Abstract:
A vehicle composite brake drum (10) is provided and includes a brake drum shell (12), and a brake drum liner (22), the brake drum liner (22) is formed of compacted graphite iron. A method of manufacturing the vehicle composite brake drum includes forming a brake drum shell and then forming a brake drum liner of compacted graphite iron.
