Abstract:
A method of manipulating a three-dimensional virtual building block model by means of two-dimensional cursor movements, the virtual building block model including a plurality of virtual building blocks each including a number of connection elements for connecting the virtual building block with another virtual building block according to a set of connection rules, the method comprising positioning by means of cursor movements in a computer display area representing a two-dimensional projection of said model, a two-dimensional projection of a first virtual building block to be connected to the structure, resulting in a two-dimensional position; determining, from the two-dimensional position, a number of three-dimensional candidate positions of the first virtual building block in the three-dimensional coordinate system; selecting one of said candidate positions based on the connection rules and a predetermined set of position rating rules; and connecting the first building block to said structure at the selected candidate position.
Abstract:
A method of producing an article based on a physical model comprising the steps of scanning the physical model to obtain a set of scan data; converting the scan data into surface data representing surface characteristics of the model; generating instruction data from the surface data suitable for causing a computer-controlled machine tool to produce an article having surface characteristics corresponding to the surface characteristics of the model; simulating executing the generated instructions on a data processing system resulting in a set of simulated surface data representing a simulated as-machined article; and generating a representation of the updated surface data suitable for producing the article.
Abstract:
A toy building set comprising a plurality of plate-shaped toy building elements (1, 2) with a thickness and having at least one through-going opening (5) provided at an edge of the toy building element (1, 2); and a plurality of coupling elements (3) for interconnecting at least two plate-shaped toy building elements (1, 2), said coupling elements (3) being each provided with at least two protruding coupling studs (7) that are complementary with the through-going openings (5) provided in the plate-shaped toy building elements (1, 2). The coupling studs (7) on the coupling elements (3) have a height that corresponds to or is smaller than half the thickness of the plate-shaped toy building elements (1, 2) at the through-going openings (5), thereby enabling two coupling studs (7) to engage with the same through-going opening (5) from each side of a plate-shaped toy building element (1, 2).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a toy building element (1) comprising a frame (2) which is provided with coupling means (4) for coupling with other toy building elements, and at least one face (3) which is arranged rotatably in the frame (2). The outer contour of the face is symmetrical about at least one axis of symmetry (7), and the face (3) is arranged rotatably in the frame about this axis of symmetry (7). The invention is characterized in that the rotatable face (3) is provided with coupling means (6) for coupling with other toy building elements, and that it can rotate at least 180 DEG inside the enclosing frame (2).
Abstract:
Threads of hair (7, 8) are embroidered in loops on a flat, flexible base (6), for example a textile base, in an area bounded by a desired wig contour (1). In this case, individual threads or tufted multiple threads are embroidered in loops. Afterwards, the embroidered area is removed from the base (6) along the wig contour (1) by cutting or punching out. The flexible wig obtained is finally glued onto the doll's head, cut to length and combed. The method enables doll's heads of any desired size, even consisting of a hard material, to be provided with wigs of any desired appearance in a simple and cost-effective manner.
Abstract:
A constructional building set comprising gear boxes which are provided with guide grooves and shaft passages. The guide grooves and the shaft passages are constructed such that transmission elements can be inserted into the guide grooves from the outer side of the gear box in such a manner that the transmission elements are positioned in alignement with the shaft passages in the gear boxes. When the gear box additionally comprises means for releasable geometrical retention of the transmission elements in their position in alignment with the shaft passages after insertion of the transmission elements into the gear box, it is ensured that the shafts can be pulled out of the assembled gear structure without the transmission elements dropping out of the gear structure. This simplifies the mounting operation and makes it easier to use the gear structure as an assembled unit that can be used for different applications.
Abstract:
An electric switch for toys comprises a stationary member (12, 13) and a member (16) rotatable with respect to the stationary member. The stationary member (12, 13) has a plurality of electric connections (26, 29) which are broken and made upon rotation of the rotatable member (16). The rotatable member has coupling means (18) for detachable mounting of a protruding lever (19). The rotatable member (16) can be rotated between a plurality of premarked positions when the lever (19) is mounted.
Abstract:
A rod (1) has several drill holes (2, 3) arranged in a row. In the region of the two end drill holes (3), the rod (1) is only half as thick and has parallel flat surfaces (4, 5). An annular groove (12) is formed on one surface (4) coaxially with the end drill holes (3). A toothed ring (13) with radial teeth (14) which make a constant angle with each other is formed on the base of the annular groove (12). The toothed ring (12) projects axially for half of its height above the surface (4). When two identical rods (1) are connected in an angular position chosen within the range of the spacing of the teeth (14), the projecting part of one toothed ring (13) comes to lie between the teeth (14) of the part of the other toothed ring (13) located in the annular groove (12), so that the surfaces (4) of both rods (1) are in contact with each other. If the distance between the two flat surfaces (4, 5) of the rod (1) in the region of the end drill hole (3) is an integral multiple or an integral fraction of a grid module M of the building blocks, the grid module M remains constant in connections with such rods.
