Abstract:
An apparatus and method is disclosed comprising means for providing virtual reality video content in a virtual space, means for determining selection of an object of interest in the virtual space, and means for scaling a representation of a user in the virtual space based at least on a distance V in the virtual space between the user and the object of interest.
Abstract:
A virtual display system in a facility is discussed. An exemplary system includes a server, client device, interactive touchscreen, databases, and a product retrieval module. One or more large interactive touchscreens are used to simultaneously display images of multiple products at an actual size, allow their manipulation, accept customization input and update the images based on the requested customization. Dynamic pricing tied to the customization is also displayed.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a pressure-sensitive user interface component, a memory device, and a processor. The memory device has executable instructions stored therein to perform a method that displays a media player on a display of the electronic device, the media player having a window for presentation of media content, a progress bar, and a play head that indicates a playback position of the media content, wherein time scrolling of the media content is achieved by selection and movement of the play head. The method continues by receiving activation control information associated with selection of the play head during presentation of the media content, the control information including a force measurement corresponding to an amount of force imparted on the pressure-sensitive component. The method continues by controlling a variable granularity setting for time scrolling of the media content, in response to the force measurement.
Abstract:
The invention implements a display system of live video camera feeds for vehicles. In a departure from traditional systems featuring fixed cameras and monitors, the invention utilises one or more pan-tilt or pan-tilt-zoom cameras (102, 202, 203, 204) that are controlled by a portable display device (301, 601) having a touchscreen (302, 602). The system has two camera control methods: a first camera control mode and a second camera control mode. In the first camera control mode the directional movements of the camera are slaved to the orientation of the display device. In the second camera control mode the directional movements of the camera are controlled by swiping the touchscreen. The two camera control modes are intuitively combined so that both methods can be used intermittently, without the user explicitly having to switch camera control modes.
Abstract:
An image processing system acquires a digital image and determines notional weights for each pixel in the image. The notional weight of each pixel relates to the pixel's color value of the pixel and may include adjustments. The system uses the notional weights for each pixel to determine a center of balance (CoB) for the image. The system may then determine an eccentricity of the CoB based on a distance between the CoB and a specified location in the digital image. The system may calculate an aesthetic score for the digital image as a function of the determined eccentricity. The system may display an augmented reality overlay on the image to show the CoB and/or other determined features. The system may use the CoB, eccentricity or aesthetic value to help improve a real-time image capture process, in a security protocol, and/or to determine whether to retain an image in memory.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes sending information configured to render a first view of a virtual space on a display device associated with a user, wherein the virtual space has a first location associated with a first social-commentary item and a second location associated with a second social-commentary item, wherein the first location is within the first view and the second location is outside the first view; sending information configured to render a first user-interface element comprising a representation of the first social-commentary item and a second user-interface element indicating a presence of the second social-commentary item; receiving an input from the user comprising a request to change the first view to a second view of the virtual space; and sending information configured to render the second view of the virtual space and a representation of the second social-commentary item within the second view.
Abstract:
Some embodiments include a dental laser system with a controller coupled to an electromagnetic energy source, where the controller's graphical user interface enables a user to provide input to control operating parameters of the electromagnetic energy source. In some embodiments, the graphical user interface can render a controller enabling user control of a plurality dental laser system parameters with a single action or input. In some embodiments, the user's interaction with a graphical portion of the controller sufficient to control more than one operational parameter of the dental laser system without a requirement for the user to provide an additional or substantially simultaneous interaction with any other controller or portion of the graphical user interface. Further, the graphical content has a graphic indicative of a mode, an operational status, and/or an operational parameter of the dental laser system that is displayed, updated, or animated by the controller.
