Abstract:
A wearable medical treatment system and method are provided for the treatment of tissue ailments and/or conditions including vascular disease, deep vein thrombosis, orthostatic intolerance, reduced blood flow, weak bone structure, orthostatic hypotension, or other conditions, using a vibrating plate. The wearable system and method use magnetic layers to generate magnetic fields to provide vertical and/or horizontal vibrational motion to a platform, thus allowing the system to have a low profile.
Abstract:
Several embodiments of supplemental support structures for receiving a non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device are provided. The non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device provides vibrational treatment to patients suffering from postural instability and other conditions, such as cystic fibrosis, as well as paraplegic patients. The non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device is typically employed following a determination that vibrational treatment of a patient's musculoskeletal system and/or internal organs would produce a beneficial result. The supplemental support structures enable the patient to be supported on a vibrational table or unstable vibrating platform of the non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device during treatment.

Abstract:
A non-invasive apparatus for dynamic motion therapy in a weightless environment include a vibration table having a non-rigidly supported platform for generating resonant vibration and for externally transferring vibrations to the musculoskeletal system, and ankle belts or other securing means to secure a person to the vibration table. The method of providing dynamic motion therapy to a person in a weightless environment includes the steps of (a) providing a vibration table having a non-rigidly supported platform; (b) securing the person to the non-rigidly supported platform; (c) subjecting the person to resonant vibrations generated by the non-rigidly supported platform; and (d) repeating steps (b) and (c) during a predetermined treatment duration. The predetermined treatment duration is at least the duration of the weightless environment.
Abstract:
A medical treatment system is provided for the treatment of weakened bone structures caused by fractures, osteoporosis, or other bone related ailments using a dynamic motion plate (101). The medical treatment system utilizes a harness (202) and lifting system (105) to assist in supporting the weight of patients who are unable to remain in an upright posture on the dynamic motion plate for the duration of a treatment cycle.
Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed for providing therapeutic treatment using a combination of ultrasound and vibrational stimulation. The system includes a first therapeutic treatment system or Dynamic Motion Therapy system having a vibrational assembly having a non-rigidly supported platform for generating resonant vibrations. The system further includes a second therapeutic treatment system configured to operate either alone or in conjunction with the first therapeutic treatment system. The second therapeutic treatment system includes an ultrasound transducer assembly which generates ultrasonic waves. In one embodiment, the ultrasonic waves are modulated by the resonant vibrations. One method includes: a) applying vibrational stimulation to a patient's body; and b) simultaneously or non-simultaneously applying an ultrasonic stimulation to the patient's body during a treatment session.
Abstract:
A vibrational therapy apparatus comprising: at least one platform member (12a, 12b) including at least one vibrating plate assembly (100a, 100b) for providing vibrational energy; and at least one positioner (18a, 18b) operatively associated with said at least one platform member for guiding patient tissue adjacent said at least one vibrating plate assembly.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing treatment feedback relating to a patient undergoing therapeutic treatment of tissue during dynamic motion therapy are provided. The apparatus includes a platform (104) configured to support a body of the patient; an oscillator (112) connected to the platform and configured to impart an oscillating force at a predetermined frequency on the platform for transmitting mechanical vibration energy through the patient's body, and a processing device (402) in operable communication with the platform for processing data related to the therapeutic treatment and for determining the amount of mechanical vibration energy transmitting through the patient's body. The apparatus further includes a treatment feedback indicator (108) for indicating (e.g., displaying) the amount of mechanical vibration energy transmitting through the patient's body.
