Sie zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass an der inneren Oberfläche der besagten Wassereinfüllöffnung (3) ein weiches Deckelement (6) angebracht ist. Die vorliegende Erfindung bildet damit bekannte Bügeleisen 100 vorteilhaft gleichermaßen in seiner funktionalen („Tropfwasserschutz") als auch ästhetischen („harmonisches Ganzes") Performanz weiter.

Abstract: Ein Verfahren zur Steuerung eines elektrisch beheizbaren Geräts bei dem in Abhängigkeit von einem Benutzungszustand des Geräts eine Nichtbenutzung ermittelt wird und die elektrische Heizung des Geräts deaktiviert werden kann, wenn die Zeitdauer der Nichtbenutzung einen ersten zeitlichen Schwellenwert (S1) erreicht hat. Dabei wird die Zeitdauer einer ersten Nichtbenutzung gemessen und mit einem zweiten zeitlichen Schwellenwert (S2) verglichen, und bei einer auf die erste Nichtbenutzung folgenden zweiten Nichtbenutzung die Deaktivierung nach Erreichen des ersten zeitlichen Schwellenwerts (S1 ) nur erfolgen, wenn die Zeitdauer der ersten Nichtbenutzung den zweiten zeitlichen Schwellenwert (S2) nicht überstiegen hat. Außerdem ein elektrisch beheizbares Gerät, mit einer elektrischen Heizung und einer mit dieser zusammenwirkenden elektrischen Schaltung sowie mit einem Sensor (11) zur Erkennung und einer Nichtbenutzung, wobei die elektrische Schaltung ein Zeitglied aufweist, welches zur Bestimmung der Zeitdauer der Nichtbenutzung und deren Vergleich mit einem ersten zeitlichen Schwellenwert (S1) geeignet ist. Das Gerät weist ein Zeitglied zur Bestimmung der Zeitdauer der Nichtbenutzung auf. Durch die Erfindung kann der Bügelkomfort wesentlich gesteigert werden. Insbesondere kann vermieden werden, dass bei einer auf eine längere Nichtbenutzung folgenden kurzzeitigen Benutzung das Gerät nicht für die weitere Benutzung ausreichen aufgeheizt wird.

Abstract: A hand iron internally heated by electricity has two switches (1 ,2) for connection to electric power, each switch corresponding to a separate electrical switching circuit. In a first case of a horizontal position of the iron during ironing of an item of clothing, using a first electrical switching circuit, a first switch (1) on the underside of the handle of the iron has to be pressed for supply with electric current for heating of the sole plate of the iron. The iron does not receive power in the horizontal, ironing position, if switch (1 ) is not pressed. In a second case of a vertical, upright position of the iron, whereby the iron lies on its rear base, whereby a second switch (2) on the rear base is pressed by the weight of the iron, using a second electrical switching circuit, power will be supplied to the iron as well. This second electrical switching circuit does not work, if the iron is picked up from its position lying on its rear base.

Abstract: A clothes iron comprises a body (2) and a sole plate (3). The body (2) is supported on the sole plate (3) by means of laterally resilient springs (4). The springs permit sideways movement of the sole plate (3) relative to the body (2). A motor (8) has a shaft (9) that carries an eccentric portion (10) which is received within a socket provided in the upper face of the sole plate.
