Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to selectively report media detections in real-time are disclosed. An example apparatus includes memory to store a media identifier corresponding to media designated for real-time reporting; a detector to obtain media identifying information from a presentation generated by a media presentation device at a presentation time; and a reporter to, when (1) the obtained media identifying information corresponds to the stored media identifier and (2) the presentation time indicates that the presentation is live, convey a detection indication to a collection facility without delay, and when (1) the obtained media identifying information does not correspond to the stored media identifier or (2) the presentation time indicates that the presentation is not live, designate the detection indication for a delayed conveyance to the collection facility.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to determine an end time of streaming media are disclosed. An example method includes analyzing bandwidth usage data corresponding to bandwidth usage associated with streaming media, and determining an end time of the media based on the bandwidth usage data.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are disclosed to identify users associated with device application usage. A disclosed example method involves obtaining demographics of persons to participate in a panel for an audience research study, identifying a set of applications to be monitored, providing devices associated with the persons in the panel with a meter to record usage of the applications and with a user-to-application associator, the user-to-application associator to define associations between the applications to be monitored and the persons associate with the device before the applications are launched, receiving data from a first one of the devices identifying a first one of the persons as a primary user of a first one of the applications in the set of applications, receiving data from the first device identifying usage of the first application, and associating the demographics of the first person with the usage of the first application.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to verify and/or correct media lineup information are disclosed. An example method includes comparing presentation data representative of media output by a first set top box (STB) to reference data corresponding to a first station to determine whether the media presentation data corresponds to the reference data, the presentation data collected while the first STB was tuned to a first channel. The method further includes determining a second station that corresponds to the presentation data when the presentation data does not correspond to the reference data. The method further includes correcting a first channel map that relates the first channel to the first station by relating the first channel to the second station to create a second channel map, and correcting clickstream data that represents commands to other STBs using the second channel map.
Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus to de-duplicate impression information. An example method includes accessing a first set of cookies and a set of user identifiers, the cookies and user identifiers corresponding to devices accessing media via the Internet, identifying a pattern in the first set of cookies, obtaining impression information from a database proprietor, the impression information comprising a second set of cookies, identifying a subset of the second set of cookies that are associated with a same person based on the pattern, and associating impressions corresponding to the identified subset with the same person.
Abstract:
Apparatus, system and method for encoding and decoding ancillary code for digital audio, where multiple encoding layers are merged. The method of encoding audio data with a message structure comprising a sequence of message symbols, the message symbols each comprising a combination of substantially single-frequency components having frequencies selected from a predefined set of substantially single-frequency values and a predefined symbol interval within a time base of the audio data, comprising: providing data defining the message symbols for the message structure; and encoding the audio data with the message symbols such that the message symbols coexist within two encoding layers along the time base of the audio data, the message structure as encoded being arranged within the time base of the audio data so that message symbols in a first of the two encoding layers are synchronized to message symbols in the second of the two encoding layers. The merging allows a greater number of ancillary codes to be embedded into the encoding space, and further introduces efficiencies in the encoding process.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to collect distributed user information for media impressions is disclosed. An example method includes receiving an encrypted identifier and media impression information collected from a mobile device, sending the encrypted identifier to a database proprietor associated with collection of mobile device presence information at a merchant location, receiving user information associated with the encrypted identifier from the first database proprietor, and associating at least one of the merchant location or the user information with the media impression information.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to determine impressions using distributed demographic information are disclosed. An example method includes obtaining media impression information from a client device for a media impression, obtaining demographic information corresponding to the client device from at least three database proprietors, and determining a demographic characteristic associated with the media impression based on the demographic information obtained from the at least three database proprietors.
Abstract:
A disclosed example involves accessing an initial average unique web browser reach corresponding to a first duration, an initial average internet media impressions-per-user frequency corresponding to the first duration, an initial average unique web browser reach corresponding to a second duration, and an initial average internet media impressions-per-user frequency corresponding to the second duration. A probability model is used to determine an adjusted internet media audience reach corresponding to the first duration based on the initial average unique web browser reach corresponding to the first duration, the initial average internet media impressions-per-user frequency corresponding to the first duration, the initial average unique web browser reach corresponding to the second duration, and the initial average impressions-per-user frequency corresponding to the second duration. The adjusted internet media audience reach corresponding to the first duration has less audience duplication than the initial average unique web browser reach corresponding to the first duration.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to integrate tagged media impressions with panelist information. An example method includes receiving a communication including a user agent setting. The example method also includes parsing the user agent setting for a unique identifier, and in response to finding a unique identifier, extracting the unique identifier from the user agent setting. The example method also includes identifying a panelist based on the unique identifier.
