Abstract:
A receiving device is provided that includes circuitry configured to receive a digital broadcast stream. The circuitry is configured to acquire server information corresponding to a viewing history server that collects viewing history information related to a viewing history of content. The server information is included in the digital broadcast stream. The circuitry is further configured to control transmission of the viewing history information to the viewing history server based on the acquired server information.
Abstract:
A server device that communicates with a user device and the server device is enabled to receive a request for a copy of content, the request including a first identifier associated with the content, information associated with the user device, and information associated with a broadcast station that is broadcasting the content. The server device may obtain a user profile associated with the user device and obtain a station profile associated with a broadcast station, and identify the content, in the station profile. The server device may obtain the copy of the content to enable the user device to access the copy of the content and send, to the user profile, a notification indicating that the user device is authorized to access to the content.
Abstract:
According to aspects of the invention there are provided a computer-implemented method for distributing content from one or more content sources over a communications network to a plurality of users by a master node of a content distribution system, the content distribution system further comprising a plurality of local nodes in communication with the master node, each local node serving a group of users from the plurality of users, the method comprising: maintaining a content directory associated with a plurality of content items of the one or more content sources, the content directory comprising content location data for the plurality of content items and information associated with each of the content item; transmitting the content directory to one or more of the local nodes; maintaining a user profile bank comprising one or more user profiles for each of the plurality of users; and transmitting the user profile bank to one or more of the local nodes for use in generating, at each local node, user content location data for each user in the group of users based on selecting a plurality of content items from the content directory according to a user profile of said user, the user content location data including locations of the selected content items, wherein the user content location data for each user is transmitted to a content player associated with said each user for use in retrieving the corresponding content items from the one or more content sources for seamless playback of the selected content items.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to verify and/or correct media lineup information are disclosed. An example method includes comparing presentation data representative of media output by a first set top box (STB) to reference data corresponding to a first station to determine whether the media presentation data corresponds to the reference data, the presentation data collected while the first STB was tuned to a first channel. The method further includes determining a second station that corresponds to the presentation data when the presentation data does not correspond to the reference data. The method further includes correcting a first channel map that relates the first channel to the first station by relating the first channel to the second station to create a second channel map, and correcting clickstream data that represents commands to other STBs using the second channel map.
Abstract:
The real-time method for collection and processing of multi-aspect data and respondents' feedback includes data collection from respondents, data processing and presentation of the results to a wide or a limited group of persons; in that respect, data are collected from different groups of delocalised audiences, including the web audience, the electronic media audience and the audience in the studio; in that process, video- or television broadcasting is additionally carried out, with the signals coming from respondents being synchronised with the signals coming to respondents' monitors or video terminals.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and computer readable media are described herein for capturing event feedback and providing a representation of feedback results generated using the feedback indicia. The representation of feedback results involves configuring a transmission module of the computing device to synchronize to an event record representing an event; receiving feedback indicia associated with an event at the computing device; operating a data processor of the computing device to assemble a feedback indicia array using the feedback indicia; and providing the event feedback to a remote data processing module. The capturing of event feedback involves storing a plurality of different event records for a plurality of different events; for each event record, receiving a plurality of feedback indicia arrays; and for each event record determining an aggregate feedback result array from the plurality of feedback indicia arrays.
Abstract:
A system enabling interactive audio advertisement, the system constituted of: an audio capture device; and a server, the audio capture device exhibiting: a control circuitry; an audio recorder exposed to an audio message part and responsive to the control circuitry, the audio recorder arranged to maintain a trailing portion of audio; a user controlled input device in communication with the control circuitry; and a communication module responsive to the control circuitry, the control circuitry arranged to transmit a function of the maintained trailing portion of audio via the communication module to the server responsive to the user controlled input device, the server exhibiting: a receiver arranged to receive the transmitted function of the trailing portion of audio; and an audio identification module arranged to identify the maintained trailing portion of audio responsive to the received transmitted function of the trailing portion of audio.
Abstract:
Estimating the reach and device frequency of a proposed advertising campaign based on the probability that advertising content delivery devices (e.g., a television set top box, radio) were used to deliver advertising content (e.g. television ad, radio ad) during specific time periods on specific delivery device channels.
Abstract:
A method for increasing data transmission efficiency in a broadcast network having at least one unicast transmission link and at least one multicast transmission link to a mobile device, the method comprising: identifying a viewing trend based upon monitored viewing activity of first content data by a first plurality of users over the unicast transmission link; determining, based upon the identified trend, that a viewing audience will exceed a target threshold for second content data; and in response to the determination, broadcasting the second content data to a second plurality of users over the multicast transmission link to increase data transmission efficiency in the broadcast network. This method may also be used to promote the dissemination of useful or popular information such as service awareness as part of marketing activities.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed that uses behavioral data collected by ISPs (104) and/or other types of data, such as demographic and/or survey data, to categorize particular ISP subscribers (106). The ISP subscribers are assigned to particular categories or "segments" using a segmentation schema (110) that maps particular subscriber behaviors to particular segments. The subscriber-to-segment mappings (116) are made available to content targeting entities (108) via a query interface (120) that, for example, supports queries of the form "what are the segments associated with IP address X?"
