A multi-axis adjustable exercise machine which is pivotable about both a pitch axis and a roll axis with respect to a base for allowing an exerciser to perform a wide range of exercises on a pitched or rolled exercise machine. The multi-axis adjustable exercise machine generally includes an exercise machine which is adjustable with respect to a base. The exercise machine may be pivoted about a roll axis to adjust the roll angle of the exercise machine or may be pivoted about a pitch axis to adjust the pitch angle of the exercise machine. One or more actuators may be connected between the base and the exercise machine to effectuate the pivoting of the exercise machine about either or both axes with respect to the base.

A resistance training apparatus (1) comprises a user engagement portion (4), a deformable body (20) and a surface contact section (3). The deformable body (20) comprises a rigid tubular sleeve (2) and a compression spring (9) contained within the sleeve (2). The user engagement portion (4) comprises a pad (22) attached to a first end of the deformable body (20) and adapted for removable contact with a user's upper body (11). The surface contact section (3) comprises at least two spaced apart support surfaces (7, 30) arranged at a second end of the deformable body (20), and adapted for removable contact with a support structure (100). The apparatus may include a universal joint (16) arranged between the deformable body (20) and the surface contact section (3). In use the user holds the resistance training apparatus (1) such that the rigid tubular sleeve (2) is horizontal, places the surface contact section (3) securely against a support structure (100) with the benefit of the two support surfaces, places the user engagement portion (4) against the user's upper body (11), compresses the resistance training apparatus between the upper body and the support structure to develop a resistant force against the upper body, and performs a walking or running motion against the resistant force to periodically further compress and decompress the resistance training apparatus (1).

A collapsible exercise machine for strengthening the core muscles (transverse abdominal, internal obliques, external obliques, rectus abdominis, and erector spinae) includes a frame mounted on a base on which a user sits and manipulates an upstanding lever arm. A seat is convertible between two differently- angled positions for back extension or abdominal exercises. The lever arm rotates a curved tube having a plurality of force adjustment holes. The tube passes through a frame at the upper end of a gas spring, and engaging an adjustment pin on the frame with different adjustment holes changes the amount of resistance. The entire frame above the base can be vertically adjusted to accommodate different sizes of user without altering the relative position between the seat (and user' s hips) and the axis of rotation of the lever arm thus not affecting/changing the designated resistance between users of different heights (resistance is affected when the lever arm is lengthened). The connection between the frame and the base enables the unit to be collapsed to a profile small enough to fit under a bed.

An exercise treadmill having an endless exercise surface for walking or running while exercising, a resistance mechanism for providing a resistance for simulating the pushing or pulling of a load, wherein the resistance can be adjusted and set to a specific resistance setting. A movable pushing and pulling means is or are operatively attached to the resistance mechanism to transfer the load to the user. The resistance mechanism applies a constant and static force to the pushing and pulling means only in the same direction the endless movable surface moves and opposite a pushing or pulling direction such that operating the treadmill simulates the pushing or pulling of a load by a combination of gripping and pushing or pulling and moving the pushing and pulling means forward or backwards while walking or running forward or backwards.

본 발명은 가정이나 사무실 등에서 의자로 사용하다가 필요시 의자에 앉은 상태에서 간편하게 운동할 수 있는 운동기능을 갖는 의자에 관한 것이다. 개시발명은 사용자가 시트부에 앉을 수 있도록 된 의자에 있어서, 시트부의 하부에 구비되어 운동시 부하를 주는 웨이트부; 및 상기 웨이트부에 연결되어 웨이트부로 외력이 가해지도록 가압하는 프레임부를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따른 운동기능을 갖는 의자에 의하면, 평소 운동이 부족한 직장인들이나 학생들이 주로 사용하는 의자의 시트 하부에 외력에 대해 상대적인 저항력을 제공하는 웨이트부를 장착하여 의자에 앉은 자세에서 수시로 운동을 할 수 있도록 이루어짐으로써, 피로와 스트레스로 경직된 근육을 풀어주어 평상시에도 건강을 유지시켜 줄 수 있도록 한 효과를 갖는다.
