Abstract:
A manufacturing device and preparation method for cigarette paper having flame-retarding stripes. The device comprises a first coating press roll and a second coating press roll, the first coating press roll and the second coating press roll being in contact with and parallel to each other and having opposite axial rotary directions. The cigarette paper passes through at the position where the first coating press roll and the second coating press roll come into contact. A feeding tube is provided at the outside of the first coating press roll and/or the second coating press roll. The feeding tube is provided with multiple feeding nozzles. The method comprises first applying on the surface of the raw paper of the cigarette paper a coating of diffusion-resistant, permeation-resistant coating material such as oxidized starch or sodium carboxymethyl cellulose so as to reduce wrinkles during flame-retarding stripe printing, and then printing flame retardant on one or both sides thereon.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for treating a continuous web of paper, cardboard or of another fibrous substance during the production and/or conversion thereof, during which a liquid to pasty application medium (2), particularly an aqueous pigment suspension, is contactlessly applied by an application mechanism (8) and without an excess of application medium (2) to the fibrous substance web (1), and the fresh applied layer (3a) is subsequently leveled or smoothed. The invention provides that the leveling or smoothing is carried out before an immobilization point of the (P) application medium (2) on the fibrous substance web (1) has been reached by a leveling or smoothing element (5). The smoothing or the leveling ensues in the range of between 0.04 to 1.0 s after the application, at a web speed ranging from 500 to 2000 m/min and at a distance (b) between the application mechanism (8) and the leveling or smoothing element (5) or applied line and beginning leveling or smoothing of
Abstract:
A doctor method and apparatus is disclosed and includes a doctor roll (12) supported in a coater (1) suitable for applying coating to a paper web surface or a roll surface (4) for subsequent transfer to the paper web. The doctor includes a doctor roll (12), a support (11) for the doctor roll (12), a front support (3) for holding the roll support (11) and a rear support or retainer (18) cooperates with and helps stabilize the support (11) and doctor roll (12). The present invention minimizes the variation moving of the doctor roll (12) has on the coating on the moving surface (4), be it web or roll, and thus can improve coating quality.
Abstract:
The uniformity of a wet coating on a substrate is improved by contacting the coating at a first position with the wetted surfaces of periodic pick-and-place devices (15), and re-contacting the coating with such wetted surfaces at positions on the substrate that are different from the first position and not periodically related to one another with respect to their distance from the first position. A coating is applied to a substrate by applying an uneven wet coating, contacting the coating at a first position with the wetted surfaces of periodic pick-and-place devices, and re-contacting the coating with such wetted surfaces at positions on the substrate that are different from the first position and not periodically related to one another with respect to their distance from the first position. These methods can provide extremely uniform coatings and extremely thin coatings, at very high rates of speed. The coatings can be applied in lanes with sharply defined edges and independently adjustable coating calipers. The pick-and-place devices facilitate drying and reduce the sensitivity of drying ovens to coating caliper surges. Equipment to carry out these methods is simple to construct, set up and operate, and can easily be adjusted to alter coating thickness and compensate for coating variation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a coating device for a paper or board machine comprising a coating rod (2), by means of which a coating is applied onto a base to be coated, such as paper or board or a roll of a film size press and which coating rod (2) can be loaded, and a rod bed (1) on which the coating rod (2) is supported substantially over its entire length and arranged to rotate in its rod space (14).
