A single layer flexible foam includes the reaction product of an (A) isocyanate component and a (B) isocyanate -reactive component. The isocyanate component and the isocyanate-reactive component react in the presence of a (C) polyurethane gel. The polyurethane gel has a viscosity of from about 3,000 to about 12,000 cps at 25°C and includes the reaction product of a polyol component and a second isocyanate component which react at an isocyanate index of from about 10 to about 70. The flexible foam also includes a plurality of agglomerated gel substrates that are formed from the polyurethane gel and that are dispersed in the flexible foam. The flexible foam is formed using a method including the steps of providing (A), providing (B), providing (C), and combining (C) with (A) and (B), such that (A) and (B) react in the presence of (C) to form the flexible foam.

The present invention is directed to a coating composition having excellent adhesion between coating layers. This disclosure is particularly directed to a 1K waterborne coating composition having hydrophobic polytrimethylene ether polyol containing crosslinkable functional hydroxyl groups. The 1K waterborne coating composition can be used in a multi-layer coating that can comprise a primer layer, a basecoat layer, and optionally, a clearcoat layer. The 1K waterborne coating composition of this disclosure can provide improved adhesion between coating layers, such as between a primer layer and a basecoat layer, between two or more basecoat layers, or between a basecoat layer and a clearcoat layer. This disclosure is further directed to a coating composition comprising components derived from renewable resources.

Flexible polyurethane foams are made using certain hydrolysable silane compounds in the foam formulation. The hydrolysable silane compounds contain at least one isocyanate-reactive group and at least one hydrolysable silane group. The presence of the hydrolysable silane compound in the foam formulation leads to improved tensile, tear and elongation properties without an adverse effect on other important foam properties such as resiliency and hysteresis loss.

The foams are made from reaction system which includes (a) an isocyanate reactive component, (b) a isocyanate component, (c) one or more blowing agents, (d) a catalyst component, and (e) a silicone based surfactant. The isocyanate reactive component includes at least (i) from 25 to 80% by weight of at least one polyoxyethylene capped polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene polyol having a combined number average equivalent weight from 1300 to 1700, a polyoxyethylene percentage of between 75% and 95% by weight of the combined amounts of polyoxypropylene and polyoxyethylene, and a primary OH percentage of between 80 and 95 % of the total number of OH groups of the polyoxyethylene capped polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene polyol, and (ii) from 5 to 30% by weight of the isocyanate reactive component of at least one low functionality polyol having a functionality of between 1.5 and 2.5, a combined number average equivalent weight from 500 to 1500 and an OH number of 40 to 70.

Molded flexible polyurethane foam is made from a polyol mixture that contains a dispersion of polymer particles in one or more polyether polyols of a particular type and one or more high functionality, high-ethylene oxide polyols which have an average oxyethylene content of from 26 to 100% by weight, an average hydroxyl equivalent weight of from 1400 to 2200 and an average nominal hydroxyl functionality of from 6 to 10. The polyol mixture produces a foam that has excellent resiliency and low compression sets.
