Abstract:
A self-propelled pipeline padding machine (20) and a method for padding pipelines (351) in ditches (348) without damaging the pipeline (351) prior to backfilling the ditch (348). A spoils pile (360) comprising dirt, vaious size rocks, and sand taken from the ditch (348) during the digging thereof lie in a generally continuous pile along side the ditch (348) from the excavation thereof. The machine (20) includes an excavator (23) having an arm (32) with end bucket (44) for scooping up material from the spoils pile (360) on the opposite side of the ditch (348) and placing it into frame mounted padding material sorter (66) mounted on the front of the excavator (23). The separated padding material falls onto a laterally disposed retractable conveyor (67) below the sorter (66) which moves the padding material onto the pipeline (351) in the ditch (348) ahead of the excavator (23).
Abstract:
Described is an excavator, clearance vehicle or similar vehicle with a carriage (2) or chassis including a driver's cabin (1), with a preferably multi-element jib (3) hinged to the carriage (2) or chassis and with a shovel (4) hinged to the jib (3) preferably by means of a rod. In order to prevent volatile contaminants escaping from gas-permeable material picked up by the excavator shovel (4), in particular earth, rubble, rubbish, etc., the excavator is designed so that the shovel (4) has a suction device (6) which draws off volatile contaminants, the suction device (6) being connected by a suction line (7) to a suction unit (8) mounted on the vehicle.
Abstract:
In a method for screening earth, gravel and the like containing comparatively large-size objects (1) and finer material (2), the material (1, 2) is moved into a screening drum (3) through an opening (13), whereupon the drum is rotated in a first direction, the large-size objects being retained in the drum (3) and the finer material being forced out of the drum through a screening element (8). When the drum is rotated in the opposite direction after the screening has been completed, the large-size objects are discharged from the drum through the opening (13). The drum is rotatably mounted on a frame (5) which is connected to the front loader (7) of a tractor (6). A pocket provided inside the drum retains the large-size objects (1) when the drum is rotated in the first direction . When the drum is rotated in the opposite direction, the large-size objects (1) are allowed to leave the pocket and are discharged from the drum (3) through the opening (13).
Abstract:
A separator bucket device with a grid for separation of excavated material, the grid comprising at least two substantially parallel grid portions (6, 7) inserted into each other, one end of each grid portion being rotatably mounted in the bucket (at 8) and the opposite end of each grid portion being connected, through a movement transmission device (15-22), to at least one drive shaft (12) provided with eccentrics (14), such that on rotation of the drive shaft, the grid portions will receive a rotary movement towards and from each other about the mounting in the bucket. The movement transmission device comprises elongated, flexible members (18), the ends of which are fixedly connected with the grid portions (6, 7) as well as with the parts (15, 16) of the movement transmission device mounted on the eccentrics.
